Hi, maybe a number of many things unfortunately. Have you installed new into your computer? (RAM, Graphics Card ,etc...).
If so take it out and restart the computer and see if it will boot up. If this is the case then you probably need a more powerful Power Supply Unit. If nothing has been added then a possibility that the Power Supply Unit is now failing, computer is overheating - check vents are not covered up with dust, objects etc.., the thermol paste between the Processor Chip and Heat Sink may have dried out and lost the contact between them, Motherboard could of failed.
Like I said before it could be a number of things but these are the most common.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

the BIOS have a protection that restart or shut down the computer/laptop when the cpu get to hot.
You can also check if the power suply is working in parameters

I have a dell inspiron 1525. The computer has not been charging correctly lately and most of the time only works when plugged into the wall. The computer now blinks 4 orange then 1 blue light on the...

> blue light on the battery

This is an indicator that the battery has reached its "end-of-life".
There do exist companies that will disassemble the battery, replace the rechargable cells, and reassemble it. Or, look on eBay for a replacement battery.

> the computer will also not boot up

That's a quite-different problem, and probably NOT related to the problem with the battery.

My sony viao vgn-cs215j suddenly turn off by itself and it takes 20 minutes before i can re-start and use it again and after 15-20 minutes would shut off by itself again without any warning. what could be...

Sorry i nay be a month late on this thread... but better late than never. My Girlfriends sony vaio VGN-CS215J seems to be doing the exact same thing. After buying one of those computer fans that you rest the computer oneverything seems to be running normal. i would also recommend cleaning your fans inside the computer because dirt dust and grime can hold the fans back from cooling down the laptop efficiently and will cause the safety overheat shutdown to activate and shutdown your computer... that way it does catch on fire or fry any of your hardware inside of your computer.

If that does not work... your fans maybe malfunctioning or not functioning at all. this model of vaio has a grinding fan issue that can be very damaging to your cpu if not fixed.

hope this helps,

Monitor going right to sleep mode on start up

Sounds like a bad graphics card. Try using monitor wit another computer and see if the problem still exists. This rules out the display.

Standy By Going off/Computer shutting down

The presentation power scheme is used when you are giving a briefing using the PC as your slide show. So the presentation power scheme will never shut off the monitor or the hard drive, don't want it to shut down in the middle of a briefing. However, leaving it in that state for long periods of time may cause the CPU to overheat and shut itself down for protection. A better scheme for quick boot up would be Home/Office. Turn monitor off after 20 minutes and "never" for hard disk. This way it will save energy (therefore heat) and you will have a quick boot up. If you are using XP Pro, there is also an option to automatically put it in standby when you close the lid of your monitor. Hope this helps. If you have any questions let me know... Please rate this solution before logging off.

Volume control

Try to boot into Safe Mode (windows 7: press F8 on boot, or Win10: start: type msconfig, enter, then boot tab: [x] Safe boot, press enter). It will be more successful more often in Safe Mode, but whether you can get into Safe Mode or not, click Start, type System Restore, press enter. (You may have to go to System Properties: System Protection tab, then System Restore.) When you restore to a previous restore point, you may find the weirdness to go away. If your problems are due to malware having been installed, you may have to choose restore points further and further back in your restore point history until you get back to before the malware, then the badness goes away. System Restore does not affect your data, only the Windows files.

Re boots itself

when you turn on the pc keep pressing F8 and it will boot into safe mode. When in safe mode highlight the option 'Last Known Good Configuration' and press enter. The pc should now reboot normally, if not you will need your installation cd to do a system repair.
