Color allignment on a Mitsubishi WT-42311 42in Rear Projection

You will need to replace the two stk-392-110 convergence chips this model uses. This can be a do it your self job if you have some skills.

This model has a light box which contains 98% of the set's inner parts. With it removed the chips will be easy to locate.

Total parts cost on EBAY should be under thirty dollars and repair should take about a hour or so.

YOU will need to be able to solder as the chips have 18 pins each.

If you think you can do it I can tell you how to get the light box out and proceed with the repair; this model has very few problems and a good picture.

You will also need to have the Mitsubishi remote to correctly adjust after the fix.

Let me know what you want to do--I am here to help.

Blue converence was intermitten now out on sides

If the IC's say have STK printed on them, then they are the convergence IC' s. should be three of them, replace all 3 , and the burned green coils, sometimes these burn as they supply the volts to the STK's. good luck, be safe..

Converence

green is fixed so you have to move red and blue to green.
by using the remote you may find a simple converge function and open this and using arrow keys move the blue or red first to center of screen, repeat for other color you should see the lines moving toward a a white center point.

if the lines do not move with remote try manual ...menu on the set. if still no movement you have a problem on the convergence board and need a tech to fix.

A service manual will explain complex convergence to the detail .
but this might take hours to get it right.

Red color allignment

The convergence Ics need replaced. In Toshiba, resistors and sometimes a coil needs replaced as well. The convergence/deflection PCB is available, but, the cost of that board is higher than having a servicer come to your home and repair the unit to component level. If you are not familar with this circuit, then call a servicer. Have them replace both ICs not just one. Make sure they are repairing to component level and not replacing the board. Hope this helps.
