My wire feed quit feeding wire what do i need to replace to make it work

If your drive rollers are moving but can't push the wire all the way to the end of the gun, your problem could be the liner in your gun and/or the contact tip. Try to replace both. If your drive roller are not moving then check the trigger of the gun.

Our Lincoln Pro Mig 175 won't feed the wire. The trigger clicks and the motor works but will not feed the wire. There's a burnt resister or capacitor on the pc board and the only numbers that we...

If your wire feed motor turns, then your problem is one of the two:
The gun's liner is kinked and no longer is allowing the wire to pass freely, or Your outlet wire guide/drive rolls are all worn out.
Easy fix will be to star with changing the liner and new contact tip. But if all that is working is your fan motor, then check your gun's trigger, if gun's trigger is OK, then change the pc board. Good luck!

Wire is broken off inside wire feed tube and wont pull through tube either

You need to replace the gun's liner. To avoid this problem you must decrease the voltage or increase your wire speed.
A new liner will cost you around 20 buck at your nearest Praxair welding store.

How do u change the liner in a lincoln mig welder

That's an easy one. First unplug power cable and remove the gun from the machine.

a. Lay the gun and cable straight on a flat surface.

b. Remove and save the gas nozzle and nozzle insulator.

Make sure that the set screw in the gas diffuser

is backed out so as not to damage the liner.

Use the 5/64" (2.0 mm) Allen wrench provided with your new liner.

Remove and save the gas diffuser from the end of

the gun tube assembly. Remove and save the liner

nut from connector end.

c. Remove old liner and insert a new untrimmed liner

into the connector end of the cable. Be sure the new liner

it's appropriately for the wire size being used.

d. Before installing the gas diffuser, fully seat the liner

bushing in the connector end and install the liner nut

and finger tighten.

e. Be sure the cable is straight and then trim the liner (all new liners are over-sized and need to be cut to your gun lenght) 9/16" to 1" over sized to the length of your gun without the tip holder. Remove any burrs from the end of the liner.

f. Screw the gas diffuser (tip holder) onto the end of the gun tube

and tighten with the wrench provided.

g. Tighten the set screw in the side of the gas diffuser
against the cable liner using the Allen wrench provided.

h. Replace the nozzle insulator and gas nozzle.

That's it. If this was useful to you please vote.

I had an arc of the wire right after the .030 drive wheel and before it feeds itself into the conduit cable. If I loosen the knob on this assembly, can I pull the conduit cable off easily?

Yes, you can. Just unplug your gun and loosen the butterfly nut that holds the gun, once unattached, unscrew the gun liner (conduit cable) and pull it out. If you feel this liner it's no longer good for you, replace it for a new one, price is around 22 dollars.

The welding wire is broke off inside the feeding hose and I can"t get it out....I have a Lincoln 100

If the welding wire is inside the liner and got stuck, you must change the liner, it is an easy fix. Take the gun off the machine and take off nozzle, and tip holder, you will need an allen key for this. Pull out the liner form the bottom of the gun and replace it with a new one. You can buy new liner at any welding shop/store. I will recommend praxair, the carry the prostar line which is very inexpensive, a new liner will cost you around 15 bucks.

Wire broken off inside of liner at both ends

Hi Ray,
You can remove the liner from the gun and replace it - probably cost you about $15. Liner comes out from rear of the gun. The rear of the gun (that plugs into the feeder) is removable. Once this is out, you can remove the liner from the rear of the pin. Remove front end consumables, install new liner, cut it to proper lenght at front of the gun, and replace gun back into the feeder, reinstall the front end parts and run wire through and beyond tip, cut it leaving about 1/2". Now you can weld again.

I have a Lincoln 140 mig welder. It welds and cuts

Usually this is caused by a bad liner in the mig gun hose, or worn out guide rolls in the drive unit, or if this is not the case the speed of the wire might be set to high as this would force the wire into the weld causing the motor to heat up from resistance and shut it down on safty. Hope This Helps Don
