Neff s5443x1GB/29 dishwasher starts and stops

The pressure chamber or hose (pressure chamber to sump) may be blocked and the microswitch is being activated because the water is not entering the tank quick enough. Isolate from electric, remove lid and left panel (looking from the front). There is a plastic chamber bottom right of left side with two microswitches, either this is blocked or the hose that runs from it to the right and along the back of the kick panel and into the sump. Clear either or both (make sure all hoses are pushed true when repositioning).

Getting f20 error code, how to check flow meter operation

Check for stuck socks or something just under the door seal at the bottom of the drum. Check filter for blockage and all outlet pipes. Check the pressure switch hose for any holes as it may have rubbed on the drum and created a small hole in it. Make sure flow meter is level and not at any angle.

Model Free standing dishwasher SGS 5002 GB 14 yrs old. The dishwasher does not drain. The dirty water is left in the bottom at end of cycle. I have ensured outside drain is unblocked: I have cleaned all...

Please check if the drain valve is weak/faulty or does not get the votage to open during the cycle , his can be your fault . Also it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose on the grip which can all cause the leak to occurs. Removing and Cleaning the drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can leak if there is gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

Why is the "dirty water" reservoir still empty after I cleaned the carpet?

Hello,

There could be several problems that would cause the dirty water tank to be empty after you've cleaned the carpets. I'll try and walk you through each to help you diagnosis the problem.

Possible Problem #1: The dirt water tank lid may be the reason the machine is not sucking up the water. There is actually a gasket on the bottom of the lid where it connects to the actual tank itself. If the lid is not put back on properly (this is really easy to do, I've done this myself many times on my Hoover SteamVac), and the gasket is not sealing the lid to the tank, this will allow the suction to leak, greatly diminishing the suction power to **** the water back up. Try removing the lid and reinstalling it, making sure that it's put back on the correct way, and try to see if this fixed your problem.

Possible Problem #2: The Hoover SteamVac's like yours have a very poorly thought out design flaw to them on the attachment hose. Where the attachment hose connects into the SteamVac when the machine's handle is lowered to get underneath furniture and is close to the ground it puts a lot of stress on the hose where it connects into the machine (not the end the attachments go on, but the other end). This will cause the hose to tear at the stress point. This is a very common problem unfortunately, and I suspect might be the cause of your suction loss. To check this, remove the dirty water solution tank from the machine completely. Step on the handle release pedal to lower the handle part to the ground. Look at the lower part of the handle portion of the machine for where the hose enters into the handle section, then follow the hose to where it connects into the machine. Right at the end of the hose, before the hose cuff that's connected to the motor, inspect this part on all sides to see if you have a tear here. If you do, this is the reason the machine is not sucking water up off of the carpeting.

Possible Problem # 3. If neither of the first two possible problems were the source of your suction loss, try this one. Turn the machine upside down (you should probably remove both the clean water tank and dirty water tank before doing this, just to ensure that no water spills when you turn the machine over) so that the brushes are facing upwards. Look right behind the brushes for two red plastic tabs that are slightly sunken into the bottom housing of the machine. Pull these two tabs upward as far as they will go. There is a metal filter screen that will be exposed when you pull the tabs. Make sure that this screen is clear of debris. This screen protects anything from going into the motor, and if it has debris blocking it, this can cause the machine to loose suction.

Also make sure that there is nothing in the clear plastic suction channel on the top of the machine where you can see the water being sucked up. Sometimes if something gets stuck in this suction chamber, this can also cause the machine to loose suction.

I really hope that this helped you find the cause of your suction loss. If you were able to diagnosis this problem, and would like me to help you fix the cause of the suction loss, I'd be more then happy to now walk you through the repair as well. Please just use the Clarification Request form here on the same page, and I will then help you out with your repair. I just ask that if this repair was helpful to you, please help other Fixya members to find it, and rate the repair helpful by clicking the 4 Thumbs Up icons in the top corner of the repair.

Thank you very much,

Maytag dishwasher not draining fully

Try cleaning out the air gap.  The air gap is not part of the machine, and is located on your sink. If this becomes clogged, it may cause the machine to not drain properly.  Also, I know you said you checked the drain hose and cleaned as far as the filter and chopper blade, but have you checked the lower filter?  There is a filter located underneath the machine that should periodically be cleaned.  To check this, you need to access the machine from underneath by removing the bottom vanity cover. Hope that one of these helps!

Water pooling up in bottom of dishwasher

is there any way to run the cycle from the beginning and listen to hear if the machine is draining at all when the cycle starts do you hear the water spraying on the inside ? if not then you have several different possibilities....clogged drain line, pump impeller broken(sounds like running but no action), water just flowing back to washer the last one's an easy fix just loop the excess drain hose up like a reverse "p" trap on a kitchen sink drain this keeps the water from flowing back to the machine

There are 2 filters, make sure they are clean, one is on the tank lid, the other is from the bottom, it is red, pull it out and clean it. If yours has a foam filter on the tank lid covering the yellow ball, make sure there is at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top. Also make sure that the lid in on and secured tightly.

The hose end should have a duct on it that you insert in front of the dirty water tank. It must be down all of the way so it will seal. This is where your suction starts from. Acouple of other reasons could be the dirty water tank lid is not locked down all of the way around, the back end isn't locked. If there is a foam filter on the bottom of the dirty water lid, there mustbe a gap between the top and the filter.

Mine constantly leaked as well but I found that if I remove the container will the solution in it after every use it doesn't leak anymore. I store my container (upright - nozzle face up) under the sink with my other cleaning products and when I need to use the machine I pull it back out, pop it in and clean.
