Takes long time to dry clothes even though dryer does get warm inside

First check your venting if all is clear. If so it is probaly the dryer coils they tend to fail as they heat up.
It could be several other things thermal fuse, thermal cut out, hi limit thermostat, heat sensor,or ignitor. All of these parts are inexpensive and easy to test and replace. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you thru the troubleshooting of these components. It may be a different model but the troubleshooting will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations. Not all models are available. If you need help disassembling your machine there are videos of this also for most styles.

Slow to dry

Hi!!

Have you cleaned the filter and the exhaust duct??

Lint plugs therm up, the heat sensor shuts off heating element thinking it is hot enough. Result: Clothes not getting dry.

Unplug duct and clean it, also clean the exahust passage of dryer. (where duct hooks to dryer)

Click below if this was helpful, Good luck.

My kenmore 80 series dryer doesn't dry. What should I check? It runs fine and heats up but the clothes are still wet

Whnn a dryer is hot but does not dry the clothes it is a very good indication that the dryer vent, ducting and or internal air passages are clogged with lint build up. Also if you use dryer sheets the lint filter itself can appear clean but actually be clogged up with the softener material from the dryer sheets.

Clean all of the air ducts and passages with a crevice tool. Pull the lint filter and clean UNDER and around the lint filter. Make sure to go outside and remove any lint build up from the vent flapper. Pull the lint filter and wash it with white wine vinegar and a soft brush on BOTH sides. For some of the hard to reach areas a folded un half coat hanger works great for losening lint in those areas. DO NOT use anything sharp.

The dryer needs loads of air moving through the ducts to work properly. You may feel air movement but it should be a very high volume air flow. After a good thorough cleaning your dryer should return to normal operation.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Daikin a/c FDY100LVIR N81. installed in suspended ceiling approx 2 mtrs. away from ceiling filter inlet. No filter pad provided for this inlet?. Told to attach a piece of wire to end of unit to withdraw...

Is this a new unit? Lots of units now come with no filter slot. I'm assuming this is above an acoustic tile ceiling. 24x48??? You need to have a 24×24 filter back return grill that lays in the ceiling. That way you change the filter by standing on a ladder. I'm a little confused about the wire thing but, the installer should have thought about how the return air was being filtered BUT, technically not their "responsibility." I'm guessing above the ceiling there is no duct attached to the return side of the unit??? If this were my unit I would buy a filter rack and have it attached to the unit and have my filters the unit. I'm assuming this is a business so what about your fresh air intake?? What filters that??? You need a filter AT THE UNIT. Not attached to a wire or whatever some i*^*t suggested. Hire professionals with credentials capable of doing the job right the first time!

Dryer Not drying well

Check first: That the lint filter is clean. That the duct from the dryer to the outside of the house is clean. In case it will not solve your problem,it might be an heating element issue (partially burned). The dryer will still heat but at such a low temp, that you will need for extra time to get things dry. Open the rear panel, look for the heating element and check visually that there is no burned parts on it (disconnected coils). If there are a burned signs on it, you should replace it. Good luck !!
