Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter. Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines. First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. If you have checked the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher, now you can use warranty if you have it on the unit. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Standing water in dishwasher

Two things to consider....clean water or dirty water?

Clean water usually indicates the fill valve is not shutting off all the way and the fill valve is "weeping" water in all the time = new fill valve time!!

Dirty water usually is not a dishwasher problem but more of a plumbing issue. Often the sink drain that carries the sinks water outside is not fast enough and some of this sink water is backing up into the drain hose and filling up the dishwasher through the drain hose. The drain from the sink to outside needs attention as this type of a problem indicates a slow house drain for that sink.

The dishwasher drain line should be clamped to the top underneath part of the counter before entering the sink drain plumbing, this may help the water from coming back inside the dishwasher.

Diswasher water isn't draining?

It is most likely the drain pump. If the drain pump passes a tech's test ok, have the drain passage checked for clogs.

The bottom of the diswasher is full of water after the cycle

Since the drain pump will pump the water out using the "cancel/drain" button, if it did not work then your problem is likely to be in the drain hose system or the garbage disposal downstream from the drain pump. Check for kinks in clogs in the drain hose. Grease can build up in the portion of the drain hose just before it attaches to the garbage disposal.

Water not draining

You need to access to the drain hose, located under the bottom panel, and check that this is not clogged, if you do not find anything in there, check that the connection to the drain line outside the machine is not clogged.

If still no luck, then check that the drain pump is not faulty, that is possible.

You can find schematics and replacement parts by entering model number here.
