If you have a universal remote you should be able to get into the menu system and select the AUDIO tab. From there you should be able to select STEREO/MONO/SAP

How do I turn off the SAP? My mom somehow turned it on and now only gets sound on some of her channels and some in spanish!

U have the original tv remote?Yes.Look for it on the remote for a button that said SAP pushes to turn it off.If u don't have the tv original remote, might could also be turn it off inside the tv internal Menu functions setup, but probally not because the SAP design in tvs are mostly just a SAP button on the tvs original remote design only.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote.

There is no sound from the unit. I have no remote but it says it is in sap mode. can I correct this?

SAP means "Separate Audio Program" - usually SAP mode is for changing the language of the broadcast (i.e. from English to Spanish) and is also used to enhance the sound broadcast of some programs.

Not having a remote may make this difficult.... you need to find a way into the set's menu- some sets have a "menu" button on them..... some require two buttons be held down together.... look at the set carefully.... if you have the manual, it is a good time to look at it.

When you get into the menu, find the AUDIO menu and de-select SAP. Your sound should be restored.

If you cannot get into the menu, you will need a remote. Write down the brand and model of your set, go to a decent electronics store, and browse the "universal remotes". Find one that supports your set and follow the instructions to set it up for your television. You will then be able to access the menu and turn off SAP.

I recently lost my remote and some channels are on SAP and I get no sound with those channels. Just need to know how to change it back to STEREO.

This problem can't solved without the remote.Because the remote the only one have a SAP button on it.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an exact remote to the original remote.

What is sap and how do you turn it off

SAP is an alternate audio program usually seen in markets with different languages. The most common is for a Spanish broadcast of an English program. It is also used to provide audio descriptions of programming for the blind. There should be a menu option under Audio to turn this on and off.

No sound on some channels

your tv has audio setting called SAP that is for channels that are broadcasting on a second language like spanish, on the channels that do not have this SAP capabilitie you will not hear anything unless you put your tv on stereo mode, so you need to go out of the Sap mode by a button on the remote, check for mts, button , or audio thank you

I have a durabrand tv and need to figure out how to take sap off the tv. the tv is model DU2701

on the remote there may be a button marked MTS. if so press this button (toward tv) repeatedly till stereo mode displays. otherwise go into tv menu under audio section and scroll to parameter that allows you to adjust mono, stereo, or sap mode. mch

I had the same problem. You have to order a replacement remote with the MTS button (Multi Channel Sound)

SAP change with no remote

The set is definately in the SAP mode, which will have some channels in spanish and some channels with no sound at all. You might be able to get an inexpenxive universal remote and go through the menu to return the audio setting to stereo, but if that does not work then you can order an original Sony remote by model number from Union Electronics at 800-648-6657.
