Question about HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

INK SYSTEM FAILURE Ink system has failed. Unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation. error: 0xc19a0013 Press OK This is the error in which I am receiving and I need to know if there is anything I can do to solve this error. The printer scans (in color just fine) and prints (only in green and blue) One second it will say I need to replace pink and another second it will say I need to replace powder blue and dark blue. Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried the info you gave to Christina for Ink System Failure ... It worked!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You saved me from buying a new printer!!!

    The printer does not say it is out of ink but when I try to print it keeps saying v40 allignmanet failure, when i try to fix it it says it has failed

Try the following reset:

Hold the OK and the Help button at the same time. While holding them down, plug the power in. Continue to hold both buttons until the unit shut off.
After shutting down, release both buttons and power on the printer.

Alternatively follow instructions on this document from HP.

Nataly : 1Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer

Nataly : The printer may display message “USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER” followed by “PRESS OK TO CONTINUE”. Press OK.

Nataly : Once the printer is initialized, try to print a test page.

I recieved an error code just like above I think. I did what it said to trouble shoot. unplugged the whole thing and removed ink.
I waited a few minutes plugged in and waited for it to ask for ink.
code was 0xc18a0201still have the code and can send faxes but not print.

Solved similar issue by simply shutting the machine down, pulling the plug - waiting for thirty seconds and plugging and powering back up.

Life is now grand.

Hi,
1. Disconnect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable from the back of the product, but leave the product turned on.
2. Open the cover of the product and remove the print cartridges.
3. Close the cover and wait for the Insert Ink Cartridges message to display.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product and the wall socket, then wait for one minute.
5. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.
6. Open the cover and reinsert the print cartridges.
7. Close the cover. If prompted, print a calibration page.
8. Print a Self Test to verify product is functional.
9. Reconnect the USB cable, and try to print from the computer.
Note:- If the error is still there Call HP & get the unit replaced

I found a solution to this problem on another site and am posting the main part of it here:

Christina: Let us perform some steps to isolate the issue and find a fix for it.
Christina: Please perform the following steps and let me know the message that will be displayed on the printer.
Christina: A. - Press and hold the “*” key.
B. - Press the “#” key and release both keys.
Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”
C. - Press and release in sequence the “1”, “2” and “3” buttons.

Christina: Fine.
Christina: 2. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”.
Christina: 3. Press and release the “OK” button.
Christina: 4. Display should say “Hardware failure status”. If not there already, Arrow Key over to “Hardware failure status”,
Christina: 5. Press and release the “OK” button.
Christina: 6. Display should say “Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear”.

Christina: 7. Press and release the “OK” Button. Message changes to “Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue”.

The Printer will start the “ONE TIME INK INITIALIZATION PROCESS”. Allow this process to complete and do not interrupt. Once the initialization process is complete, the printer will print out a Diagnostic Page.

Christina: Let us print a self test page to check the functionality of the printer.
Christina: Press Setup menu on the All-in-One then scroll using the arrow key and select Print Report then select Self Test Report.

The Ink waste tank filters are usually change by a technician or the counter can be turned back. The ink waste tank is found at the base of the printer

Open the printer as if to replace an ink cartridge. On the print head there is a black plastic arm about 2 inches long. Re-connect this with the white cog wheel so that the protruding part is in the center of the black arm. Close lid, power on and job done.

I have a Ink System Failure.


IssueAn 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel. The printer cannot copy, receive faxes, or print. Solution
Press the On button to turn the printer off. 
Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
Remove all the ink cartridges.
Wait two minutes.
Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
Press the On button to turn the printer on. 
Install the ink cartridges when prompted.
If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved.
If the 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel, service the printer.

Solution
Press the On button to turn the printer off.
