We have a geovision 800 video system. THe camera have stopped recording and read lost live video. THe power supply is fine. Someone suggested to uninstall and reinstall the camera drivers, but I do not know how to do this and I am not sure where the software for this is. We had them installed 6 years ago and the man who installed it originally will not return my calls.

"Lost Video" error

Which version of the card are you using, BNC or D type?

Remember: GV-800 is currently not compatible with VIA series and ATI series chipset motherboards.

I know Dell uses mostly Intel chipset, but just in case, check with your motherboard to see if you don't have either ATI or VIA; specially since you already have the nVidia.

Try going to the BIOS on your PC and set the 'Primary Display' to PCI instead of the built-in chip.

If you have more information, please let us know. We can help you better!

Hello

Have you tried at "Camera/Audio Instal" Menu?
Click the Configure button and select Camera / Audio Install to bring up the dialog box:
Click the Activate button and specify the cameras to be viewed

Hope that help.

On all cameras it says lost video

I assume you have multiple camera's and have checked that at lest one has power :-)
If so, most likely the PC has lost the cards License Key .. try uninstalling the camera drivers & re-installing.

I have losted video for no reason? was working fine

What kind of video card? What kind of monitor? What OS? What application? Is the video card correctly installed, both physically and software-wise? It is seldom that there is "no reason" when video stops working.

Gv-800

This problem could be because of the GV card version not compitable with GV main systems software you install please check the hardware version of the GV card and compare for compatibility. East way out downgrade to lower version of software. for example if you have version 8.1 install then install version 7.0 or something like that.

Error message saying video lost and not recording

There are several possible issues at play whenever the lost video message appears.

First, have cameras lost power? If you powered cameras through a central power source, inspect it and verify it is working

If you powered cameras through a plug in transformer, touch it, if warm it is working

Next touch the cameras, are they warm? If so, they have power.

Once you have determined cameras have power, disconnect power for several minutes. Turn power back on, if cameras respond and send video, your cameras have likely suffered damage from a power surge and are near failure.

If you have access to a small tv with an RCA video in jack, you
can test this by leaving the camera powered, run a short length of cable from the tv to the camera. We use hand held mini monitors to test this, but they are pricey,

It is most likely that have power surge damage and the cameras need to be replaced
