Question about SEH TECHNOLOGY InterCon IC105-FASTPOCKET-TX (0889418030225) Print Server

Open Question

Have a IC105-fastpocket-tx connected to a wide format printer. my harddrive crashed am now trying to print with a different computer. I remember the tcpip address was 192 186 000 100 but now it won't print. do I need to install software or something it's been about 4 years since i got the seh fastpocket and can't find my info. I know the software interconnect let me see what was going on but now I don't have that software

OK, well when using any Win 64 bit system we have a few possible problems, the first, you MUST install and run the software as Administrator.

Also i suspect you must turn OFF digital driver Signing, to do this at bootup press F8, until you get the menu, go right to the bottom looking for Digital Driver signing, and set to OFF. This has to be done each and every bootup. or they will not work.

Then from the Win 7 machine install that printer, a NETWORKED PRINTER and follow the instructions, now you MUST also have that particular printers "Drivers" installed, as Admin too...ON the Win 7 machine.

The print server is just a dumb PC link... really it doesn't need drivers, as it simply appears on the network as a Share, and under this Share is the printer.

make sure the printer is setup for anyone to use, and shared too, you do this in printer properties.

So i think once you do all that you maybe all good.

My epson stylus tx 121 doesn't print..... it says ur printer s not ready... but everything s ryt at my end.... i need some solutions

First how are you connecting to the printer? Is it a direct USB connectionor are you using a USB hub or print server (sometimes part of a router)? If a USB hub is in use, is it a USB powered hub or a self-powered hub (AC adapter)? (Make sure that the printer has power and is turned on. Also make sure that you have printed and scanned a calibration )

If you are not using a direct connection, try a direct USB connection. Use a different USB cable and try different ports (some ports have lower power throughput than others). Make sure that you have the correct driver for your OS. (The full software is useful for other issues.) See for the drivers.

Try uninstalling the current printer driver and then disconnect your data cable (USB). For Windows, press Start and open the Devices and Hardware control panel (Printers and Faxes in XP) from the right hand column. Right click on the printer and select Uninstall (or left click and choose Uninstall from the Menu bar). Reboot the computer and install the Epson printer driver before reconnecting the USB cable. (Otherwise you can get the OS driver that may not work as well.) Remove your data cable from both the computer and the printer and turn off both devices. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet. Wait a few minutes before reconnecting the power. (This will reset most printers if there is an error in the printer itself.)

If you are using a print server and the direct connection worked, check the installation information for using the print server. Not all printers are compatible with certain print server drivers and you can have a conflict.

If a direct connection to any of your computer's USB ports does not work, check if other USB devices work. If not, try updating or uninstalling your USB controller (in the Device Manager for Windows - Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager, scroll down to the Univeral Serial Bus controllers). Then reboot your machine and see if the correct driver installs. Alternatively, check your computer manufacturer and see if there is an update for your USB driver.)

If the problems persist, you may have a bad USB port on the printer. Please add a comment with the type of connection between the computer and the printer.

I have an HP Windows Vista 32bit Home Premium computer, I run a HP W2207 wide LCD monitor on it and print with a Canon Pixma MP495. I've bought 3 different printer within the last year so, I know it's not...

Connect one of the three printers to a different computer, and try to print, to see if the printer and the printer-software work OK with some other computer.

Installed a new router and it's not reading my print server.

My first guess would be that your router is also handeling DHCP(network addressing) and you print server has its own address. You need to change the one or the other to put them on the same network(address).

Printer won't print

If you are unable to delete the print jobs from the queue then please unplug the usb cable from the printer or the computer abd restart the computer. Once the computer is restarted try connecting the usb cable and check whether the jobs has been deleted and shows 0 ready.

Next, you may have to change the communication format called the "Spool format."
Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:
1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and "Printers."
2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click "Properties."
3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models, there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.
4. This is the spool format setting. Under "Print processor" it should be set to "Lexmark 5300 series print processor." Next, under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."
5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.
6. Please try printing again.
If this does not help the situation, please describe any differences it does make.

Display hardware or drive broken

format your laptops's harddrive and install the operating system. When computer crashes very often, it is better to format it and install the operating system. Don't opt for quick format. This will help you to detect bad sectors. If there is bad sector, you have to replace the hard disk.
