Question about Nikon Speedlight SB-80DX TTL Flash
If you still need to take apart the Speedlight, the only service document available for download is here. It is not free, a small fee is asked for the purchase of the document.
Hope it helps.

It's going to be difficult to find the service manual for this unit, and Nikon simply recommends that the flash be serviced by an authorized dealer, and is due to the tight, sturdy construction of it's body. I never took one of these apart, but I have taken others apart years ago, and there were hidden screws beneath metal or plastic covers, and it wasn't straight forward, if you didn't wish to damage some part of it. You're going to be hard pressed to find a person who knows about this, since they're few and far between and not likely to be perusing the net on their time off. What I would do is simply take the flash into a reputable camera repair shop and simply ask them how to take it apart- you might get lucky and get enough advice to fix it yourself. Sometimes, if some tech isn't busy, they'll be happy to even do it for you if it's simple enough.
Good luck, thanks for using FixYa, and hope this helps.
