Question about Intel Motherboard

I reformetted my pc. the sounds were fine prior to the reformatting but when i tried to play a sound i get error messages. when i looked at the device manager i found a yellow sign with a black question mark on the two components which are PCI Device and Vieo Controller components. what will i do? when we purchased the PC there were no intallers given.

You most likely have onboard sound and video. you will have to check the model number of your motherboard and search online. there should be a sticker or writing on your motherboard. otherwise most motherboards display the model name during the first few seconds when you switch your computer on. you might have to do it twice to get the monitor to switch on first. its usually a code or number like MBM-3434-234 (this is purely an example as it might be a longer or shorter with different characters)

I got a virus and it seems to have erased my sound card program from the PC and no sound comes out from the speakers even though all messages say its working fine.


'Restore' the computer to a prior state where the sound driver worked. Look for the 'Restore' options in the 'Help' menus off of the 'Start' button on the lower left side of windows.

Will not play burned cd's. Getting ERROR 3 message.


have you tried using cd + or - r's and some units dont recognise all,also cd player may only read mp3 format dics, not itunes, you can reformat using software from web site....... swift sound file converter

I have a major problem with my sound drivers...HELP!!!


hope if the drivers you are loading to the system is matched with operating system, or try to load the driver separetly, download it from internet, this is because the softare cd might be damged...the last option is, reformat the whole system and load again, if the options given do not work...

No sound when playing DVD


Hi there
Update the audio codecs from here:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/codec.htm

install the codecs then try to play your DVD, if you still have no sound reboot the PC and try again, if still no luck please post back

Loss of volume


Hi,

About 6 months ago I had to wipe my hard drive clean and then reinstall all disks for my Dell Dimension 4500 system. Ever since then, there has been no sound for emails, music, Start-up and Logging off etc...etc.

When trying to play a cd for instance, or anything requiring sound, the following message appears:

There are no other programs running and I have repeatedly gone to control panel and gone through all the Windows sound trouble shooting suggestions regarding sound devices. All wire connections have been checked and there was no change in regard to the plug-in areas.

Everything worked great soundwise prior to re-installation, no wires or connection locations were changed, and no one else has used my computer so I have ruled out any accident by another person.

How To fix sound for Toshiba Satellite.


Sound issue can be related to driver, sound settings or hardware itself. If you tell me more about the issue an I will give you step by step solution.
Check if device manager shows the Sound device? When you play a media file does it indicates any error message? Have you unmuted all the channels?

Sound Drivers


you have to download the sound drivers and install the software..can't give you the exact driver as haven't specified much about your PC.
still try to download one of the common driver like realtek- Ac97... from the following URL ..

or try to download other audio drivers and install it...your problem would be fixed.
