OK ..this will be tricky and will not be the answer you hoped for ..
Once hat you cut the current into the unit is necessary to insert the pin code again let you get started..if you forget the code and there is no way to get it back ..from somewhere the previous owner if it is the case..than the only thing that you can do is to take it to a repair shop of these kinda devices...and change the internal chip ..(flash tip memory ) that holds the information about the code...This operation will lead you to end up with a new empty memory with a chance to enter a new code..and this is the only way to by pass this code..
Due to the large numbers of second hand cars ..and the people that buy them and get to this kinda problem ...the guys from the repair shop are familiar with this problem ..and even if they do not know how to change that chip they know for sure where to guide you to ....
The chip itself is just a small flash memory circuit..and it is not expensive ...but the hand work will cost a little..and I repeat ..if you can not recover that is the only way to do it ..
This kinda chip is not sensitive to lack of power for to try to reset it ..or any other trick ..the replacing is the only solution ..

My battery died and I had to get a new battery. I can not remember the security code for the car radio KDC-MP342u can you help?

You may have to contact the manufacturer for details on that. Check in your owners manual for the phone number of their customer service. I had a similar problem after changing battery but found the answer right in the manual. Mine was a Kia.

Press key 1 on the radio until the first number of your code appears. then repeat for 2,3,4 and once your code is on the screen you then press 5 to accept it.

Also remember to set your windows by holding the switches in the up position for about 5 seconds each

How's your battery? If you need to jump your car off, looks like your alternator is going out... it's not charging your battery or supplying power to work all the electricals (The dim lights are a give-away of this problem to me).
Alternators aren't a bear to replace on your model. Just remember to disconnect the battery before you start. Good luck!

I had to replace the battery in my 1995 mitsubishi diamante and now my stereo requires a code to unlock do I get this code?

Hi there,

You are not alone. Here's how to get the code.
Copy down the VIN number of your vehicle and serial number of the radio (if you can get to it).
Call Mitsubishi. Ask for the service department.
Tell them your situation.
They will give you the code and procedure to enter it.
That's it!
