My frigidare window unit is not draining water out the back. it is filling up in the front. this is the 2nd year we had it and it just started doing it. we have vacuumed the water out of the back and...

From what you described, the problem probably lies with the back of the unit not being tilted down enough. The general rule of thumb is 1/4" to 1/2" downward tilt. This allows the water to flow back to the drain hole and empty faster. That way it will not build up and over flow the front of the unit.

I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

1. Make certain the water supply valve is turned on. Check the inlet hose for any kinks or bends in the line that could prevent unit from filling properly. Check drain hose for proper installation. If water drains immediately, unit will display an IE Error Code.
2. Check the water supply valve and make certain that it is turned on and open fully or this code will display.
3. Check the inlet valve filter for buildup of mineral deposits. If the inlet valve filter is clogged it will restrict water flow is restricted into the dishwasher, resulting the IE Error. Clean filter with small brush to remove any accumulated mineral deposits that may have accumulated.
4. If inlet hose is kinked, water flow into the dishwasher, is restricted resulting the IE Error. Straighten any bends or kinks in the inlet hose. If the drain hose is not installed properly and the water drains out of unit, this could cause premature draining, which results in IE Error Code. In this case it will be necessary to reinstall the drain hose according the instructions in the installation guide.
5. If the water pressure is not 20 - 120 psi, water will not fill properly. This will result in IError Code. If water pressure is too low, it may be necessary to call for service.
6. During winter, parts of the dishwasher that are installed outside may freeze. Melt the frozen part by soaking a towel in warm water and wrapping it around the part. This should allow the dishwasher to operate.
7. If the unit is not leveled properly, the IE Error may occur. Use a level to check the sides and top of the unit. If the unit is not level, adjust the leveling feet in the front and back. Use the leveling kit packaged with the dishwasher. Check mounting brackets. If one is tightened more than the other, it will offset the cabinet.
* Note: To adjust leveling legs on the front, use a 1/4" square drive wrench. Turn clockwise as needed to adjust level. To adjust rear legs, use a standard Phillips head screw driver. On the left side rear, turn the screw counterclockwise to lower the leg and raise the rear. To adjust right side rear, turn the adjusting screw clockwise to lower the leg and raise the rear of dishwasher. Using a level while adjusting the legs will help aid in proper leveling.

Water dispencer does not stop when lever is

your control panel is sticking. it will get that way if you get your ice after you fill your drink. the way to fix this is to take it apart and clean it. the front panel comes off and there are 4 screws and then the whole unit can be removed.

Water fills machine but won't shutoff

ekrok, you are going to have to change the fill valve. If water is still filling when the unit is unplugged, that means the valve is stuck open. This is not a hard fix. You will have to remove the screws on the top in back. Should be three. If this is a GE you will have to remove the front header. Three screws in back of the front header. Now the top will slide off toward the back The valve is easy to get at. Get your part at a local appiance parts store or order it from repairclinic.com. Change it out and this will be a done deal, Catriver
