Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Messenger Error 80072745

This is sometimes caused by the cache left on Internet Explorer. If your internet's working fine, then follow these steps.
Close MSN Messenger
Open Internet Explorer. Set it to work offline (File > Work Offline)
Close Internet Explorer and reopen it. Now set it to work online (File > Work Offline).
Open Command Prompt (Start > Run > type "cmd" and hit enter)
Type "ipconfig /flushdns". You should recieve a message that your DNS has been successfully flushed.
You should now be able to connect to MSN Messenger. Open MSN and see if the problem is fixed.

My windows live messenger account will not sign in even though my passord and username are correct. the error code given is 80072745

This is generally a firewall problem. Try reseting your router first. If that doesn't work, make sure your software firewall applications are allowing msn traffic on port 1863.

open the following file in notepad
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
add the following two lines to the bottom of the file

65.54.239.80 messenger.hotmail.com

align them with tab so they match any other entries and save the file.

go to a command prompt and type

ipconfig /flushdns
