Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

How reset bios password form a acer travelmate 240

You will need to turn your travelmate upside down and remove the ***** from the hard drive panel or Ram cover...try both. You will see a small battery(cmos battery). If you can see where it is plugged in and can reach it,unplug it for about 10 seconds and plug back in then put your covers back. That should reset your bios so you dont need a password. You can go back in your bios at a later time and set a new password if you wish :)

My acer moniter comes on but wount stay on it cut back off

Shut down computer and monitor. Unplug the monitor from the computer. Plug it in again making sure it is connected firmly and that the connection in the back of the computer (video card) is not loose or shaking.

If the symptoms persist and the card appears loose (can happen on older computers) you might need to open the computer case, unscrew and remove the video card and then reinsert it making sure it is firm and attched.

Remove your battery and power adapter. Now hold the power button for 10 seconds. This will drain any charge that had accumulated. Now try powering on your computer with the battery or the power cable.

Full battery, doesn't start up

Mine is doing the same thing, and I've tried the same solutions as well as trying different computers and cables to recharge.

The one other possibility for mine is that I damaged it using a generic charger in the car that was supposed to work for "most" MP3 players. It did seem to - I mean, the player didn't blow up, catch on fire, or stop working! - but a day later, it collapsed. Maybe a coincidence, maybe damage from the car charger.

I'm guessing that it's time for both of us to send the units in for battery replacement.

Good luck with yours.

Why, AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN

No power at all, not even for a second. this happens all the time, it usually comes back days or weeks later, it has been over a week now and nothing. I have replaced the power cord in the past when this happened, when the computer starts up again the older power cord will work again??
Thank you for your quick response.

Monitors video and power blinks on and off

Yet another case of bad capacitors on the power board.
These monitors are well known for this issue, but they live a long time past when they should.
Easy repair, but if your not confident around electronics drop it to your local TV repair shop.

Hope it helps =)
