I went to phone settings, and went to security and I went to change PIC or PUK code & it froze and stopped working and I can turn it off & on and use an emergency call that's it. Why do I do?

Hi the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not any code to do with the phone, all you need to do to get the PUK code is call your service provider.
your service provider wont charge for giving you the code as the code belongs to you, all you need to tell them is your phone number or if you dont know that then the number printed on the sim card, they will then provide you with the 10digit PUK code for free over the phone.
this will then allow you to access the sim card.

The only place you can get the PUK code from is your service provider as their is no where else that keeps these codes, if you still have the card the sim card was attatched to then it will be written on their but if you no longer have this then the only way your going to get the code is by calling your service provider, they wont charge you for this as the code belongs to you,

you do have another option open to you though, if you dont need that sim card then you can go out and get another sim card and when you get given a new sim card you will get given the unique PUK code it will be written on the card the sim card is attatched to.

let me know if you need further assistance ok.

I have a few cell phones that used be with Tmobile, ATT, and Alltel. I've seen ads that say buy a Motorola sim card for unlimited everything $50. If I put that simcard in my Motorola Razor would it work...

If the handset isn't locked to those three networks i.e. Tmobile, ATT and Alltel, then any sim card will work. Almost all handsets are locked to certain networks and so we can't use sim cards of other networks. You can verify this in only one way. If you have a sim card of another network (in your hand at the moment or you can borrow it from your friend or from other family members), you can insert the sim card, suppose a Verizon sim card, not those three. If the verizon works, then all sim cards should work on your handset.

Since your phone already works with Tmovile, ATT and Alltel, I hope all other network sim cards should work without any problem. Suppose if a phone is locked to network means, it's locked by the Service Operator to preserve their customers so that the customers will return to them if anything happens with the sim card or with the phone, this is a business plan logically designed.

For now, I can't confirm you, but at least if you could try with another sim card of another network (verizon) and it works, the no doubt, all sim cards should definitely work. But if you can't try it that way, I wouldn't recommend you, until you get it tested.
And that Advertisements seems a kind of something, "....unlimited everything...." sounds good, but must be unlimited Incoming Call and could also be without monthly rental fees. I don't recommend unless you ask about it to someone who already used the same sim card ($50). As we know, advertisement is advertisement.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

I need the puk for a orange samsug f480

Hi the PUK code is not a security code for the phone it is the security code for the sim card, now the only place you can get this from is your service provider so if your sim card is with orange then all you need to do is call orange and give them the phone number of the sim card or the number written on the sim card itself, your service provider dont charge for this service and will give you the code over the phone for free.

you do have another option if you dont need to use that sim card then you can go out and get a new sim card and put this in your phone it wont then ask for the PUK code but if it does you will get given the code as it comes written on the card the sim card was attached to.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

Keeps saying 'please insert sim'

Your SIM card is not being read anymore due to a number of reasons.
Try rubbing the SIM card with a clean smooth dry cloth and then insert it again.
If that doesnt work, your SIM might be damaged, take it to your network provider and they will replace it, hopefully with your same phone number.

Sim card rejected

You need to do some testing first.

Put your sim card on another phone (should be unlocked or the same provider) and see it it works.

Put another sim card on your phone (should be the same provider sim) and see if it works.

From there you can check where the problem lies.

Phone freeze sim unavailable contact service provider

I had a similar problem a few months ago. A friend of mine suggested that I turn off my phone, take the battery out and then the sim card out (the little card that says either CINGULAR or AT&T) on the back. Blow some air to try and get the dust out and put everything back on, then turn on the phone again.

It worked!!

I don't know if this will work for you, but I hope it does!! Good luck!!
