Question about Televison & Video
The vibrating sound that you hear is a bad color wheel. I have replaced several of them in these samsung dlp's. What happens is a panel of glass comes loose from it and causes the vibration sound. You can usually find the best deal on ebay for them. It's a fairly difficult job to change one, and there's no way I could possibly explain how to do it, so you may want to let a shop get you an estimate on doing it. Our shop gets around $250-$300 for parts/labor to change one. The problem w/ the lamp light could be a number of things. Make sure the lamp door/cover was put back properly. There is a safety switch that will not allow the set to come on if that door is off. You may try replacing the ballast next if that doesn't work. It's really hard to say w/out doing several tests first. Also, make sure that the lamp was pushed all the way in after replacing, so that is making good contact w/ plug. Good Luck!
