First you should find out if the image is still there - if it is then the inverters for the CCFL tubes have failed. If they have failed it will be very easy for you to fix them - basic switching power source, probably the power transistor failed.
If not then the problem is either in the connections to the panel or the image processor. If it's in the processor then this monitor is dead - as you know unsoldering a processor involves a very special heat gun and a lot of patience for a very up to chance result. Add to that the fact that it will be almost impossible to find a new processor on its own and a replacement mainboard will cost you more than the tv. Time for a new one.

The backlight inverter has been a common failure for this set. Check the electrolytic capacitors C16 and C17 to make sure they aren't bulged or domed on top rather than flat, and make sure F1 (2.5 amp fuse) isn't open. If these parts are bad, you can replace them and save some money, or if you can find the backlight inverter board you can just replace the whole board. I searched a couple of our parts dealers and was unable to find the board in stock. It may be tough to find one. Good luck!

Contact any service technician. It will be the best. Otherwise; replace all the circuit boards; one at each time. Good Luck.

How do I get the picture on my tv back?

It's could be one of two things (well, generally speaking).

1.) inverter board. You can check this by putting the TV on something that's broadcasting or playing (a channel or an input playing a DVD or something like that, where you can hear the sound) and then take a flashlight and put it directly on the screen so the light is pointed at the screen. Put it as close as you can, it should be touching the screen so you can't see light coming out the side of the flashlight. Can you see the picture faintly moving normally? This usually works on something that's brighter and has lots of onscreen action, I wouldn't choose a documentary on deep space or something like that for this test. But if you can faintly see the picture moving as it normally would it's most likely your inverter board gone bad.

2.) main board. If the other test fails it's probably the main board that's gone bad.

Either of these you might be able to find a replacement on eBay with a tutorial on how to swap out the components on YouTube. If you believe this may be beyond the skillsets you posses, then you may just consider buying a new one as technicians can be expensive and these TVs are getting cheaper and cheaper every day.

good luck!

Reoccurring audio problems

All TVs today are actually computers which also receive TV frequencies. The audio has to be decoded from the digital signal then goes to an analog audio amplifier. When you hear no sound with the picture do you hear anything coming out of the speaker? A hissing sound when the volume is way up?

If you hear a hiss then the amplifier is working but not getting anything to amplify. This could be due to a bad solder connection or a problem with the CPU and/or a switching circuit. Without a schematic I'm guessing here.

The bottom line is, there's probably nothing you can do to fix it unless you're used to dealing with SM (surface mount) technology and can touch up all solder connections from the CPU to the audio amp.

Whoever is fixing the TV should be able to tell you where you're losing the signal from the RF decoder to the amplifier as long as the problem is not before the decoder (which is probably all in software that the CPU runs.)

What is a opamp

An opamp is an operational amplifer. The OPA134 is a single amplifier with differential inputs. The best way to describe this IC is that it is an ideal amplifier with infinite gain, with high input impedance and low output impedance making it both a voltage and current amplifier. The output signal is divided with resistors and provides feedback to the minus input to inject negative feedback. The ratio of this feedback basically determines the final gain. The input signal may go to the positive input for a non-inverting amplifier or to the negative input for an inverting amplifier. Roughly the voltage gain in dB will be 20 x log of Vout/Vin. There is a difference in the gain of 1 between inverting and non-inverting for accuracy sake, but that is the basics.
This particular part is very high quality in performance and should be replaced with the equivalent part or one from Burr-Brown. The power supply is typically +/- rails and ground is usually the virtual point between the split supplies representing 0V. Sometimes the input signal will not be referenced to ground and will be fed to both the plus and minus inputs which will be balanced (impedance wise) to form a differential input that rejects common signals such as noise. Pretty cool device, I couldn't live without them. OPA134 Precision Amplifier Operational Amplifier Op Amp Technical documents

Tv turns on and has picture only for a second then goes out and only has audio

this is down to the inverter back light driver shutting down due to a fault on the inverter board. Common faults on lcd monitors / tvs where the capacitors dry up causing voltage abnormalities .

I have a 47" Insignia LCD TV. Model #

That notion is wrong. Just because the 24 volts is there doesn't mean the inverter board is not the problem. Check for the 5 volts to turn the inverter board "on". It may also have a 3.2 volt turn on.
I don't mean the 5 volt stand-by for the main either. Most of the the Chinese sets are labeled either on the front or backside of the board as to what is needed. Example- PO means voltage is applied to that pin at power on command. STBY= voltage will be there at plug in. Let me know what you come up with.
OH, by the way, I repair these all day long for a living and not by web site. I'll be glad to help you.

Black screen, no picture, audio is OK

Place a bright flashlight against the screen. Look around the edges of the flashlight on the screen and see if you can see an image moving. This indicate the inverter/backlight has failed.
IF you know how to work on electronics or have someone with knowledge/skill you can repair/replace it.
Unplug set.
Lay on flat surface covered with a cloth.
Remove back cover.
First check to make sure the voltage is getting to the inverter board.
If the voltage is present, replace the inverter board. If not check fuse on power supply board.

Inverter board can be found on, ,, and other places on the internet.

My syncmaster just stopped working one day after i woke up.its black but if you look close enough, you see your desktop. please

That means that the inverter is gone.

If you can see the picture by pointing a flashlight on display at close distance, then the inverter must be replaced. The inverter is the power board thet supplies high voltage to backlight lamp.
