I have Averatec 3700 Series, and I LOVE it, however, I use it all the time, and want to upgrade the RAM.......I work remotely, travel all the time, and do not have the manual with me, can you tell me if this is possible, and also tell me if the access is under the keyboard or in the back........ Thank you so much.......

I am sure you must have solved the problem by now, but this is for others who might have the same problem. I have the AV3715-EH1 and the memory slot is just below the 3700 series sticker right in front. As you lift the panel it is right there.

Hi

Looking on the Kingston website (trusted) I can see that the 3715 is initially configured with 512 but is upgradable to 2Gb

http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/modelsinfo.asp?id=3&SysID=27609&mfr=Averatec&model=3700+Series+3715&root=&LinkBack=&Sys=27609-Averatec-3700+Series+3715&distributor=0&submit1=Search

Ther is a large panel on the underside of the 3700 and I would expect to find the mem slots there, however they may be located as you suggested under the keyboard.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My averatec notebook laptop has no sound and is having windows xp proffessional 3700 series

Update your audio drivers. Plug a set of headphones in and if they work, either your speakers have gone out or something is crossing the contacts and keep the signal from getting from the audio card to the speakers themselves.

My averatec 3700 series does not read some new sd cards. can you help?

The card reader on your laptop can't read SDHD cards - cards bigger than 2GB. There's nothing you can do about it, it's a hardware limitation. For those cards you will have to buy a separate card reader.

Averatec 3700 hard drive

The hard drive is located under the plastics on the right below keyboard. Accessing is a pain and a bit of trial and error.

If the system crashed, I would use a linux live cd like PUPPY
to transfer what files you want to a flash drive then use the recovery partition to restore to factory settings.

if you need the distribution of puppy I can e-mail it to you or you can google it and download it. Live cd's load into ram memory and once loaded you "mount" the hard drive access it and copy files to a "mounted" flash drive.

The recovery partition is accessed by one of the function keys

How to replace hard drive in Averatec 3700 series notebook

The link to all the manuals is no longer valid, Averatec has been purchased by Trigem. Averatecforums.com and Averatec-forums.com have both gone under and there is painfully few dis assembly guides available.

The only one I've been able to find that was useful is found here:http://www.larwe.com/technical/av3715-open.html

Goodluck pulling out your hard drive.
