Question about HP DeskJet 6122 InkJet Printer

Windows: XP SP2 fully patched
I believe every single HP Deskjet series printer I've ever worked with has had this problem. Sometimes uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers fixes the problem, sometimes it doesn't.
If you don't already recognize the problem from the subject line then you probably don't know what I'm talking about. I've tried simply uninstalling/reinstalling the device to no avail. I've also tried switching from the parallel interface to USB with no luck.
Apparently the user is able to hold the power button down until the rest of the lights quit flashing, then it will print the job without incident.
I hear HP has a new universal print driver available that I've yet to try. I downloaded the driver from HP's website under the assumption (possibly bad assumption) that the drivers they would have available would be the latest. That could be false as well.
What say you interwibble?
Ok this is a pretty easy thing to fix so what you want to do is try to find the printer and get to its settings. then once there find the master language try to change that if this didnt work then try talking with hp
