Laptop overheats

You can try opening the laptop and cleaning the radiators from dust with a vacuum cleaner. Also, you can try lowering the CPU frequency or switching your power plan to "power saving" (in Windows: control panel -> power options -> power plan), however this will decrease the performance.

How i keep my computer coll?

Most retailers that sell computer stuff have laptop cooling mats. This is a device that you sit your laptop on and it forces air circulation around the bottom of your unit, helping to keep it cool. They normal run 14-25 bucks.

If your using this system at home and can not get an air conditioner for one reason or another they have room coolers based on a different technology and can be rather inexpensive. They are commonly used in server rooms when regular air conditioning just does not work. I can assist in providing more detail on this upon request.

Please keep me posted and updated on your issue. I am here for you and will see your issues out till resolved.

Have a great and wonderful day :)

Laptop switched off while i was working on it

After the notebook shuts down do not turn it back on for 15 minutes and then test it again. Will the notebook work longer if you let it cool down for a while? Isn’t it hot if you touch the bottom? Can you hear the fan running?
Most likely you experience a laptop overheating problem and it would be fixed by cleaning the cooling module – the heat sink and the fan. The notebook processor produces a lot of heat when the notebook is turned on. The cooling module helps to keep the CPU cool when the laptop is working. The cooling module includes two parts: the heat sink and the cooling fan. The heat sink is attached to the CPU and helps to conduct the heat from the processor to the radiator. The cooling fan blows on the radiator and helps to disperse the heat produced by the CPU. The laptop will overheat if the heat sink radiator is clogged with lint and dust or if the cooling fan stopped spinning.
If your laptop shuts down after some time without any reason and warning, check if the cooling fan spins. Usually it makes some noise and you can hear it. If the fan works fine, then check if the heatsink is clogged. In some cases you can clean the heat sink with compressed air, just blow inside the fan openings on the laptop bottom. If the heatsink is completely clogged, then it is necessary to remove the heatsink for cleaning.

HP Pavilion a6101(desktop)

hi my name is gary i will try to help you out with this problem......
the first thing that comes to mind is the cpu could be over heating... this could be caused by the cooling fan not working correctly ..if this is the case what is happening is that the bios has a setting that looks after the temperature of the cpu and if it get to hot will shut the pc down to protect any further over heating and of course other components within the pc tower...to check if the fan is working take off the side of the pc while it is turned off you will now be able to see the large fan located on the mother board...now switch the pc on and see if the fan starts up ...if not this will be the problem ... just pop to your local computer shop and they can easily fit a new one for you.

also if the fan is matted in dust this could also cause the pc to over heat and shut down.....if so just turn the pc off and get a small paint brush (new not used) and clean down the fan and the heatsink.

i hope this helps
regards
gary

It appears that your device has crashed. There are hundred ways to recover data from a crashed hard-disk but none of them are for novices. You may try chilling the device inside a freezer and then connect to the PC. Don't forget to wrap the drive with a plastic so that the whole system remains air-tight while chilling and connecting. Please refer to experts on this matter if you are unable to recover.

I cannot install my Phillips web cam. It says there are compatibility issue, with McAfee.

What else is new?  Tell McAfee to go chill and shut down and nevermind about leaving you unprotected, and install the Philips web cam, which will then go fine.
McAffee is a spaz.  But you can reactivate it once the Philips is installed and running (not that it won't come on once you've rebooted anyhow.)
