Basically to work like a satnav does. .... Have been using Google maps and voice navigation with no prles since May. ..... The audio does come out from the phonespeaker even when my Bluetooth is paired to the phone.
When you connect your TomTom (using the TomTom HOME application on your computer) ... and you sign in to your TomTom account, it will automatically do a scan/search to see if there's any update(s) for your TomTom device.
If you see the an update (available) for your Navigation software, select it and proceed to download and install it. MapShare updates are also identified and can be selected, downloaded and installed (free).
If you're asking whether you can update the map free ... the answer is NO ... not from the TomTom website. You'll have to buy a map update (subscription) and download the new version of the map and install it.
You can go on internet via your service provider or if you have an ADSL modem, you can use the WiFi facility on the phone. If you don`t have ADSL,speak to your local land line provider for an ADSL subscription.Nice and handy to have a system like that. You can go on the internet from anywhere in your house or bed,day or night and it costs you only land line subscription.
If you mean google maps (the best one) then go to www.getjar.com and download free. While if you want Nokia Maps then www.nokia.com and download free. But for nokia maps you have to activate them for three months. What happens after three months as I still have a month to go. You can do it directly from your phone. Dont need a PC for it.
Check out the Terracrosser software, this uses Google maps but allows you to use downloaded maps. Terracrosser works on my S620 although I haven't been able to get my BT GPS unit to function properly with any mapping software. I have tried setting it to COM 6 as previously suggested.
