Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

How do I instruct the nav system to use freeways

Hey Joseph,
  • You have to go settings and make sure put a check mark on "Avoid Tolls and Ferries". Then the GPS will go only Local.
  • To reset it, Go back and Uncheck whatever you have previously marked checked. Here is a download link for your Manual.
Good Luck!

Why my garmin nuvi 2595 LMT GPS is taking me off freeways

Some GPS has this problem once in a while. When it happens, turn the GPS off and restart it again. Problems should be solved.

Why the garmin nuvi 2595 is avoiding freeways

No. it depends on your settings. You can choose fastest route, shortest route or to avoid like toll, U-turn, ferry, or..... check your settings and reset it as suitable for your driving situation.

Why won't my 07 Merc Moutanineer Navi system send me by direct route

Some settings have SHORTEST distance overriding the fastest route. Other settings have SPEED overruling distance, regardless of whether the road is an E-way or not. Just like you can pick the E-way it may be set for surface roads. Also make sure the REROUTE setting is not doing this to avoid accidents or construction or TRAFFIC conditions.

I know exactly what you mean, I had the same problem going from Detroit to Texas, and it was pulling me off the E-way and putting me on Indiana backroads. Think it was on the shortest route, afraid someone's backyard was next.

2005 Chevrolet Malibu will not accelerate

I would take a look under the car and see if there is any obvious damage. It's possible that the exhaust or catalytic converter may have become restricted when you hit whatever you hit. This would be consistent with the 30mph symptom that you are having as well.

How do you select most use of freeways to avoid back roads? My Magellan was easy to use in that regard.

Hello,

Go to the Tools > Settings > Navigation > and press the button under Avoidances.
Use the arrow down and place a check mark in the box beside Unpaved Roads and then press OK.
Also, go to the Tools > Settings > Navigation > and setting the Route Preference to Faster Time will usually route using freeways. This is not always the case, as some secondary roads are paved and the unit will route to them if it calculates that this will be a faster route.
It is usually a good idea to familiarize yourself with an unknown route. This can be done after creating the route and touching the map screen. Zoom out to view sections of the route. Via points can then be added to modify the route as necessary.

I just upgraded my garmin c340 and now it tells me to get off of the freeways and to take side roads..i do not know how to fix this. i just returned from a family reunion in oregon, i live in denver, co....

You can set the unit to avoid highways. It sounds as though this setting has been turned on. Press the wrench key at the bottom of the main screen. The press "Navigation." If "Avoidances" says "Enabled", press it. If there is a checkmark next to "Highways", press and remove it. Then press "OK". This should correct the problem.
