While connected with a wire surf using internet explorer into the routers console its either at 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (most of the time anyway) , Enter the username and pass to get in, often both are admin or admin and blank. check the wireless tab settings in there to see if its enabled and configured.

try power cycle by removing the power of the router for one minute then plug it again. check the cable if all of it tightly connected to the specified port if it is a modem router it should have a 3 cable connected to it Phone line, Ethernet cable and the power adapter. the Ethernet cable should be connect to the back of your tower( computer). check you phone for a dial tone. check the light in the router like dsl , ethernet ,internet and activity. all of these must have a light.

Recently i am using a d-link glb-802c router modem.i have noticed that i can access net without ethernet cable & the lan led is not lit when i am using this.is this abnormal?

This is a wireless router, so yes, you should be able to access the internet without a cable. The router also only supports wired lan, not wireless.

My ADSL 2+ works fine with wireless, but not with a local area connection. My PC uses this. I,ve switched cables, tried a cable with the laptop, and reset the router. No change. Any ideas? Steve

If the wireless connection is working fine it show that your internet security is fine and you can access net without problem
there could be a connection issues a within the cables
1) Connect the Ethernet cable to the Laptop and connect the other end to router E1.
2) Open the command windows (DOS ) by typing cmd or command on the Run option ..
START- RUN- type command then hit Enter
3) In the black command windows - Type IPCONFIG
c:\> IPCONFIG hit enter
it will provide with the correct IP ADDRESS and Gate Way Address
Check the gateway address - shout strat with 192.168.X.X
If it is not there is some problem -
4) Check the Device manager and check the Ethernet Adapter whether the adapter is enabled or Disables or Drivers are installed or not

If you get the same speed on all three computers, I'd recommend replacing the router. I can't imagine any possible configuration setting that would cause a router to communicate at only 10KB over a wired Ethernet channel.

Need drivers for DSL-G624t wireless router

If you're connecting to the router by ethernet cable or wirelessly, you dont need drivers unless you mean the drivers for the ethernet adapter and/or wireless adpater in your PC.
If this is what you're after, your PC's manufacturer's website is the best place to look if you dont have them on CD/DVD.

If you're connecting to the router by USB port, then the D-Link webiste should have the drivers for downloading.

I am unable to connect through wirelss

You may need to go in, and configure the wireless part of the router.
From a wired computer, try going to http://192.168.0.1
This will allow you to configure the wireless portion.  The manual that came with your router will have your default admin username and password, as well as the instructions on how to configure the wireless part of the network.

Trying ti install my dsl-2640b wireless g adsl2+modem router

If you have plugged the ethernet cable directly into the motherboard, make sure the onboard lan is enabled in the bios, if you have plugged into a pci nic adapter you will have to install a driver for it, winxp should have the driver for your adapter other than that I cannot help any further.

best of luck
