SOURCE: No sound from Front Speaker

take amp to a workbench, have a test speaker in hand, touch the speaker wires to each channel to see if all channels work. take each speaker to the amp and temporarily hook one at a time to see if any speaker is bad. if you eliminate the hardware, you know it's the wires in between.

SOURCE: Left front main speaker level drops after being on for a few hours

Run the speaker test mode :

While running the speaker test tone to balance your speakers, you cannot adjust the balance of the Main speakers independently. The speaker test allows you to balance the sound (dB) levels of the Center speaker, Rear Left, Rear Right speakers to match the level of the main speakers. So, the first thing you do is press the [TEST] button on the remote. Next, adjust the [MASTER VOLUME CONTROL] until you can adequately hear the level from the main left and right speakers. Then, as the tone travels clockwise to each speaker, listen carefully from your main seating position in the room to determine which speakers (if any) need to be adjusted in level (either up or down) in order to balanced the sound to the main speakers output. Then adjust the Center, Rear Left or Rear Right speakers accordingly until the proper balance of level is attained. If you would like to change the level between the mains, you can use the [BALANCE CONTROL] either located on the front panel of the receiver or in the Set-Menu. A common challenge people have is that they try to adjust the main speakers to match the center or rear levels. If your center speaker is louder than your mains, You cannot adjust the main level up, you need to adjust the center speaker level down. All speakers need to be adjusted to match the main level.

SOURCE: Bose 123 Home Theater speakers started crackle sound?

If the wires are bare on some parts and touch eachother that will most likely be the cause.

Hello...ive got a poblem with my alteclansing 151i speakers. the front left and rear left speakers are not working.

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
hope this helps

No sound from front left channel

Try swapping the connectors for front-left and front-right (just swap right at the back of the amp)

After the swap, does the front-left speaker work, and now the front-right is dead? If so, then it's a problem in the amp.
If not, then the problem is in the wiring and/or the front-left speaker itself.

Post back here with your findings, and we'll troubleshoot whichever part of the system is broken.

The sound isnt being played through my bush cht2dvd home theatre kit when im watching tv only when im watching a dvd its connected to my tv with a scart cable, Help please.

Hi Hoggy - do you still have the problem?
One way I found to solve the problem - if you have a Sky box (I actually have Sky+), connect the AV cable between the back of the Sky box and the Bush system. Then using the 'source' button on the front of the Bush - select AV1 (or AV2 depending on which AV sockets you plugged in to).
(Of course - will only work when watching a channel on the Sky box)

My JVC receiver won't play my left front speaker. The right one seems to work fine but when I plug in the left it is virtually silent. i too have had a few "overload" incidents and am running two JBL 8...

swap the wires around to see if the right speaker will give sound on the left channel. If it does, the it's a blown left speaker. If you don't get sound out the right one either, then the left channel ouput has a bad capacitor somewhere in it.

Surround sound speaker outlets are not working

Might be a loose connection problem. A contact cleaner is handy in cleaning the terminals. Try to swap the speaker connections if you don't have a multi-tester to check the resistance of the speakers. If the right front speaker will sound after connecting it to the left front speaker output, then it is a speaker coil problem. If not, might be an amplifier channel problem.
