Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
If I understand you correctly. You cannot connect wirelessly at work with you laptop but you can connect with your desktop.
1. The laptop has to be allowed on the network by either MAC address ( Media Access Control) number or an IP (Internet protocol) address.
2. This is done by the administrator of the router. To allow the device to be seen by the router and and assign an IP address to that device to gain access to the server and be able to connect to the Internet.
3. At work you will have an IT administrator that will give a password/ user name to allow you to obtain access to the company server.
I hope this helps. Have a great day.
