This is usually not a normal problem. First you have to check the setup of the device and ensure that you have the proper iPod cable. Also to narrow down the iPod charging problem try using another iPod or an alternative cable for charging the iPod if it still doesnt work then it will be advisable to return the unit to your dealer.

(Several builds of Sounddock look identical butthe internal hardware is different) You get access to diagnostic and repair videos and it tells you what pods and phones your dock is compatible with. Also there is a diagnostic video that helps you decide what's wrong and kits and detailed instruction videos that lets you fix the problem yourself. If your dock connector is faulty than you can fit the charge upgrade or upgrade to Bluetooth on a Bose SoundDock Original for less that the cost of a repair. All kits you get a new docking connector of the later, tougher design included in the kit.
