Question about Ovens
I used the self cleaning mode for 2 hours and the error f2 keeps flashing and beeping, I did try to power off with the breaker and left it off for about a half hour and it still continues to beep and flash f2, what should I do?

SOURCE: Dead Whirlpool Double Oven
This happened to us the first time we used the self-cleaning feature. The repairman said we had to replace the whole electronic panel -- but when he put in the new panel it didn't work either. It turned out he just needed to replace the oven shutdown thermal fuse I believe. We finally got up enough courage to try the self-cleaning again and the exact thing happened. The door is locked and the electronic panel is dead again. So when we get it fixed we will never use the self-clean again.

SOURCE: Flashing locking door light
the door's locking mechanism is controlled by a switch when you shut the door down. much like the light switch on your refrigerator. when you initial closing the switch for locking the door will be triggered does locking the door.
there is a possibility that this switch on your oven is press / stuck that is why it keeps on saying "locking door" which will eventually never be completed.
Find the switch on your door panel, this is usually near the hinge of the door. it can also be safely located with in the hinge assembly, if this is true, there will be no buttons or holes visible.
if you can open the door panel up or remove the casing you will be able to locate the switch on the door hinge and its assembly.
hope this helps.

SOURCE: Kenmore oven error code f10
on that type of range F10 indicates a problem within the electronic control, but it could possible be caused by a faulty temperature sensor.
I would recommend service from a technician

SOURCE: F7 error message on GE oven
one other comment about the F7 message having delt with this stupid oven for years and after replacing touchpads and controls the touch pad is the cause of the F7 in one of 2 ways either the ribbon cable is shorted (the repair for this has been posted by several people and is good) or a stuck button .One cause of the stuck button at least in my house has been steam coming from the oven flowing over the touch pad this can get moisture in the touchpad shorting it out causing a button to stick giving an error message also making the oven unusable....what I did solved the problem I figured I was going to have to spring for a new touch pad so I peeled it off the front of the oven got under the edge with a knife and lifted it off (it is stuck on fairlly well but will lift off) once this is done i squeezed every button between my fingers and flexed the touchpad back and forth (flexed not bent) ..I noticed the edges are not sealed well allowing moisture between the mylar surfaces poor design! i replaced pad and sprayed edges with silicone spray soaked the front also around the window area figuring the silicone would get between the surfaces and help prevent this problem Ta Da oven all better too bad I didn't figure this out sooner but I hope this helps someone....GB BodhaineG@aol.com
