Are you using the correct disks?
A DVD-R is a write-once format: once you've burned the data onto that DVD platter, the disk is forever frozen with that information. Add the "W" to that, and you'll find that DVD-RW can be erased or rewritten up to a thousand times. Seems kinda weird, but if you can do so, DVD-RW obviously has significant advantages over DVD-R.

I want to burn dvd using cheetah dvd burner, when i press burn a note says''insert a media writable

    Might be several reasons
Take a look on front panel if it says DVD-RW use only DVD-R (RW) blanks, +RW only +R(RW), +/- or RAM both. Check the record speed your blanks might have higher speed than allowed
Also blank might be upside down
    Hope that helps
    Good Luck

    Samsung SHW08A DVD±RW doesn't burn dvd+r

Its because you need a firmware update. The media you are currently using isn't recognized. I stumbled in here with the same problem. I haven't been able to find an update, so I will probably have to try a different brand of disc myself. The burner worked fine until I tried using a new pack of Verbatim discs.

    Recording Problems!

You may try a different style DVD disc. Are you using (+), (-), or (RW) the DVD makes a difference. http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2636511113.pdf Here is the manual for your product. Check pages 9 and 10. These pages tell you the type of DVD disc to use, and what speed they can be used. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
