Question about Dell Inspiron 530s Desktop Computer (ddcwfa2_5) IntelPentium dual-core processor E2160 (1MB L2,1.80G
Hi the first thing to do is switch it all off at the mains, then unplug everything from the back of your computer then plug everything back in doing this will remove any static build up that could be causing problems with your video card.
then check the cables at the monitor end if they dont come out of the monitor give them a wiggle just to make sure they are not loose then plug everything back in and switch it all on.
if after doing the above you still have no picture then the problem is going to be with the video or graphics card in your computer, if this is the case then the chances are it has over heated if this is the case then replacing the graphics card should solve your problem, if how ever your computer dont have a graphics card and its just plugged into the mother board then this itself may need replacing.
let me know what happens after you have unplugged everything ok
plz rate this solution as i have loads of posts that are unrated taking up my whole page, thanks

The floating 'Dell Self-test Feature Check' dialog box should appear on-screen on a black background if the monitor cannot sense a video signal and is working correctly. While in self-test mode, the power LED remains green. Also, depending upon the selected input, one of the dialogs shown below will continuously scroll through the screen.
If your monitor screen remains blank after you use the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer system; your monitor is functioning properly.
- This box also appears during normal system operation if the video cable becomes disconnected or damaged.
- Turn off your monitor and reconnect the video cable, then turn on both your computer and the monitor.
