Hp printer f2180...usb device not recognise

Hi
i bought this new printer hp f2180..when i connected to teh usb port...it say usb device not recognised...i instealled teh drivers first...then i installed them secondalyy..i disabled enhanced usb..means i tried everything wat wqs written on web pages...i shut down completely my comp for a night..
i tried everything.........
can u help me with this..

Mate, I gave up completely for the night when I got mine and had similar issues. Some help though.....
First, make sure the USB Port is a 'powered' port (i.e. one that's in your PC or Laptop and not from a plug in HUB). That's needed. Secondly, the install software is ****, so I ended up installing the drivers by downloading them and the install tool from the following website (you can't do it form the CD):
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_product=3177559&h_tool=software&h_lang=en
Just select the Printer Only driver. Once done, this doesn't present the device to your PC as a printer, so you have to go into the Control-Panel / Printers and Faxes / Add Printer and add it manually. you'll be asked to select the PORT for the device, and you need to select USB Virtual Printer Port. Then it will just go through whatever it goes through and install it. When you next Reboot, it will then install all of the other stuff to link it to the generic HP software it loaded off the CD. Seems to do that all by itself. Good Luck.

Deskjet F2180 not printing with Mac OS X 10.4.11

When you installed the new software did you delete your old print setup in the printer preferences as it may be conflicting with the new driver. I would delete all appropriate hp F2180 printers from the printer preferences and then install the print software again. When you do that does your printer show up? if it does not show up there could be a problem with the usb cable or the usb port on the back of your mac, swop it into another usb port, if it still does not show up, use a different usb cable. Hi,

This error gets due to of printer usb cable problem. If the cable is good, check your usb post, it means some voltage problem in udb port, last one drivers.
Try to download drivers from hp.com of other websites and in stall it.

Hp j3680 was installed but now it cant be recognised on the usb port.

Check your USB ports and cable. If you have the unit plugged into a hub, try directly connecting to the computer. (A bus-powered hub is at higher risk but failures are known with both.) Try swapping to a new port (if you are already directly connected to the computer). Check if a known working device works in the port. Ports can burn out under some situations.

Try a brand new cable as well. In some cases, you might want to try unplugging the power connection as well as the USB cable to clear any issues on the printer.

HI,

Is this the first time you connect your printer on that computer? This can be the USB port does not support a 2.0, or your data cable/printer cable is damage.

Clicking sound and in use/memory light flashes. Canon PIXMA MX850

I had this problem and found that I had plugged the usb cable into the wrong plug hole. I had tried a reinstall of teh printer which failed when it tried to recognise that teh printer was on and connected. When I moved the usb cable to teh correcr socket (closest to teh side of teh printer) it was fine.

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

The welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard shows up every time I'm trying to connect the USB port to the HP Deskjet F2180

plz remove the printer from the computer and uninstall the printer, then reinstall the printer unless asked dont connect it to the pc.

I have a hp deskjet f2180 all in one printer scanner copier we have tried to add to my lap top but the lap top does not recognise the hp deskjet f2180 and we dont know what else is compatable with

What operating system are you running on your laptop? This model only supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS/X. Make sure you have installed the printer USB drivers (included on the printer software CD) first. If you are connecting the printer directly to the laptop, all you should then need to do is connect the printer to the mains power, turn it on, and connect the USB cable between the printer and the laptop. If you are connecting to a printer that is connected to another computer, you mus make sure printer sharing is enabled on the computer the printer is physically connected to.

I may be able to provide a better solution if you can provide more information on your Laptop operating system and how the printer will be connected.
