Compatible with Microsoft Vista?

Hi. I'm thinking of buying this all in one printer but see that there may be some incompatibilities with MS Vista? Is that still the case? Thanks in advance...

Compatibility issues with this printer continue.iHp techs in India cannot fix it (spent many days on this). It causes various applications to suddenly quit. For a while by choosing to run another printer as my default printer, and then selecting the hp printer manually each time I printed, seemed to do the trick (cumbersome but not too bad). However, after several recent "updates" the printer causes the applications to close unexpectedly again. I cannot recommend this printer, which pains me, because when it works it is great.

Hi Khalsa007,
I am using the HP 7280 All In One printer. I trusted sentece on the package saying "compatibe with Vista". In fact it is not!
Installed as a LAN pronter and after 2 months working fine, the driver does not find the printer in the network any more. No chance to solve it. Had a 6 week contact to HP support after installing latest driver versions from HP website with no success. Finally HP support recommended to reinstall Vista. So, I did. Right after reinstallation: The same problem.
You can find lots of threads in a number of channels reporting the same situation.
My suggestion: Nice machine with XP. But hands off this printer with Vista!

Greetings,
RF

Hi,

I would like to tell u that since vista was lauched it had some driver compatibility issues with most of the printers , however its been nearly one year now that vista has been in the marketplace & almost most of the issues have been taken care of.

However in case u would like to get a recommendation on compatibility > being a technician i would suggest you to go for Hp Photosmart C 7280 all in one printer .

Thanks .

On my hp all in one model 2210 printer I press scan, Options, Microsoft word, enter and start. the printer indicates "no connection" even though printer is connected to computer.

The driver is not compatible with Windows Vista. The printer is considered a 'legacy' product and there are no upgrades to the driver after Win XP

I found this out after buying a new MS Vista laptop.

You can use MSPAINT or PRINTIRIS (maybe others too) to activate a scan from within the software. You may need to do some size formatting to the scan afterwards. Also you can try "Bullzip PDF Printer" (google it) to print the document or picture in a saveable PDF format for printing at your leisure.

New laptop with 2 year old printer

If the printer is not plug and play or is not compatible with Vista then you will have to search for the correct device driver. Best place to start is the Microsoft webpage and enter Hardware Compatibility List. Good Luck.

Compatible with Microsoft Vista?

Hi,

Not to worry, this printer is Compatible with Vista, but when it comes to Duplex Printing (Two-sided Printing) there might be problem, because in Vista Duplex printing doesn't works well.
Apart from that, this printer is the Best in the HP Photosmart Series.

Thanks

Need compatible driver

Lexmark does not have Vista drivers for that printer.

I saw something here about someone making a driver for that machine might work, can't get to the site from work: www.vistax64.com/vista-general/66911-lexmark-z25-vista-drivers.html

I just got a new Dell with Vista.

most probably the driver that you are loading for your lexmark is incompatible with vista and you need to load the vista compatible drivers. you can download them from the link below
