Popping sounds can be caused by a poor connection between the speakers, speaker cables, and amplifier. ... Wires can also become pinched in furniture or damaged in other ways, which can cause them to fray and make popping sounds. Check the cable at the amplifier and speakers and replace it if it is damaged.Jul 7, 2016
If the amplifier itself is making the popping sound I suggest you disconnect it immediately, as it could be an electrical short within the amp. If the popping sound is actually coming from the speakers, it could be due to a crossed wire, blown amp channel, or blown speaker. If you posses the technical know-how, you can test the amp channel and speaker by connecting a different speaker to the channel responsible for the popping sound. If the new speaker makes the same popping noise then it is most likely a blown channel. I hope this helps =)
Double check your connections at the transmitter. Swap inputs to see if the popping moves to the other speaker. Popping usually means blown, however......
turn on the amp and you know that the amp is good and you hear nothing
1. paralell wiring on speakers that are the wrong impedance very often will silence speakers to a eternal sleep along with that amp.
2. 4 ohm speakers mistaken for 2 ohm and are 8 ohm speakers mistaken for 4 ohm, the amp sees this load and it causes a overload on either side of the amp internal filter
( that's what makes the "pop sound") amp pops inside, literally makes a "pop" sound
you get a no sound
for the popping, go to windows sounds and switch it off so you wont get any sounds by clicking.<goto control pannel-> sounds -> goto 'sound' tab -> under 'sound scheme' select no sounds. this will solve your problem temporarily.
try switching the popping speaker to the other side and see if it still pops if it does then you have probably damaged the driver in the speaker if it doesnt pop then the problem probably is in the receiver
If the previous radio played all the speakers and the new one wont either:
1. You have not hooked the speakers up right.
2. All your speakers are blown.
3. There is a factory amp, you just don't know about it.
4. The radio has blown final outputs.
5. One or more speakers or speaker wires is seeing a ground (shorted out)
First check the radio, hook up a know good test speaker directly to the speaker outputs on the radio. If it works, then take a 9volt battery and try to pop the inside speakers with it. When you touch the + & - speaker wires to the battery + &- you should hear a pop at the speaker. If you do you don't have an amp. If you don't you might have an amp or the wire going to the speaker is dead or shorted out. It is unlikely that all four speakers would be bad or have bad wires. If none of them will pop you need to turn on the factory amp. Then they will play. If only one speaker wont pop then that is the bad speaker. If they all pop then you have a bad speaker or wire.
Your center speaker is probably busted since you say you here an odd popping noise from it. You will need to get a new center speaker. It is not your sound card unless the same happens if you buy a new center speaker.
disconnect the woofer and connect a different speaker see if other speaker makes the same pop if it don't then the woofer cone is defected if you have high watts and using stereo on high volume you can damage speakers.
