It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Check for any loose solder terminals at its main power regulator section circuit. Re-solder all the suspected solder terminals; by applying a little more solder to each terminals. The fault is with any loose solder terminal/s at this circuit stage.

I cant get my tele to work as it wont come off standby

Sounds like a power supply issue. You can try a "static discharge" and unplug all power to the TV, hit the power button a few times... and then plug it back in to power. If it works - great, but if it goes back to standby, there is something wrong with the unit - OR - its not detecting a signal and turning itself off.

Let me know if that helps.

I have a waltham tv3202hdv which takes ages to turn on,,the standby button flashes for ages then when it stays on and i try to switch the tv on the green power light flicks on then goes back to the standby...

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy.

Lg tv well not turn on

If the standby light is ON, and the set does not power up by pressing power switch at the remote control, or at the side panel power switch, the main board is faulty. If there is no standby light, the power regulator board is faulty. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy. Can't turn on

When you turn the MAIN off you are killing all power to the set---Some advice---If you Google the model number of this set with the word problem after it you should find what I have seen a lot in these sets: they develop bad solder connections on the power supply printed circuit board---usually the board is about 18 inches tall and 12 inches wide--A number of sites online offer to have you ship them the board and they will resolder it for you.
I have repaired about 12 of these with this problem in the last 2 years---The board has to be removed(there are quite a few plugs that need to be labeled and removed and lots of screws that secure the board in place.)

Maybe not a job for a do it yourself person but the soldering (if it is your problem) will take about 45 minutes(including removal and installing board back).

Like most modern sets this set uses lead free solder and it is soldered(the boards) in a wave or one step process---over time from heat and expansion some connections may crack or even break loose----I would look at the POWER SUPPLY board(follow the power cord as it goes right to it)

If you have any questions or need help please contact me here.

I do this here for free so if this information has helped you take a minute and give me a vote here.
