Question about Philips 60PP9202 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Thanks for help

Hello,
I got this: STK392-120 Hitachi replaces these with STK394-160, for other sets it may not be a good sub. They have been fine in the Philips sets so far. from this site: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/manufacturers-service-support/5600-crt-based-rptv-convergence-repairs.html#post43725 Do you think I may be alright by replacing the STK394-160 with what 120's? Or have I now fried the circuit and need professional help? My family is not happy, but I already got $50 in this project and would like to get it fixed. Thanks again!

The only thing you could have fried is your resistors in the convergence circuits that feed the convergence yolks you can safely go up to STK392-160's but you may need to replace those resistors I spoke about if you need anymore help e-mail me

I have a problem with my hitachi. The picture has vertical blue/yellow stripes. Probably due to a green color split. Can you diagnose my problem?

You probably have a convergence circuit failure. Replacing the Convergence IC's and check for any open resistors for the Blue Sub Yoke located near the Sub Yoke Connector should cure the problem. Most of the IC's are
STK-392-110's, STK-392-120's, or STK-392-150's. Replace them as a set.
Hope this helps,
Skyassoc

Infinity Basslink

Hello,
That popping you hear is most likely the voice coil blown and your not going to get much out of it now. Discontinue use of the unit so it doesn't blow the amp, and you can get the sub replaced if you don't want to toss it.
Good luck, hope this helps

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.

No picture, have sound

Dude, you dont have the same problem thanks for junking up my post.

Ok, so I have replaced the SUB power assembly and the SUB Defconvergence board, picture looks decent however magic focus just blanks the screen out and cannot adjust manually does the same thing.

Is there a way to enter the service menu and initialize the magic focus functions after servicing.

It must be using the saved ROM settings, but it wont let me adjust anything convergence wise.

Thanks,

Joe

It seems you might have cold solder connections on the picture tube socket or on the picture tube drive board. If your not a tech please call someone to assist you with repair as you can be seriously hurt by the HI voltage insiode this set an or cauae more problems with the set. Good Luck
