I may be able to help you to find your Part but I am wonder if it is possible you can help me with a copy of the Owner's manual of the Krups 703, I lost mine and i my need some part too.

Hi... if you have a La Machine I, the item you want is available on nelsonappliance.com for $6.99 + s&h. Search for "disk adapter". I'm not sure about the La Machine II, but the phrase "disk adapter" will probably help you search. Good luck!

There is no mechanism to lock the stem onto the base of the KFP750. It's just held on by gravity, so you're not missing anything simple!
It's possible that the soap dust got in there and glued in on. Take a blow dryer or very hot rag (use tongs!) to the stem to see if you can soften the soap, then pull up the stem.
