Question about Whirlpool Dishwashers
Could be one of the motors burning out or a faulty electronic valve not letting water in properly... unless you are competent working around live electrical circuits, theres probably not a lot you can do.
of course the obvious thing to check is that the water feed to the unit is not blocked and that water is flowing as it should. (do this by turning off the feed, unhooking the pipe from the unit, putting the pipe into a bucket and turning on the flow)

I use a vacuum cleaner to vacuum any hairs or dust. Then, I spritz the post with a mixture of vinegar and water, which gets rid of any funny smells. Hope this helps.
