ThinkPad 60: Mouse cursor blinks and scrolls the current page down to the bottom in FireFox

I don't know the cause. If I unplug the USB mouse and plug it in again, it might work. Otherwise I need to reboot machine to get the mouse working properly.

When ever i move my curser on the screen the the scroll button comes on how can i get rid of it

Troubleshooting a mouse that scrolls up and down uncontrollably depends on various factors. Possibilities extend from the class of surface to hardware problems or configurations.

Identification

A variety of laptop mice exist.

A mechanical mouse uses a hard rubber ball that rolls with any movement of the mouse.

An optical mouse uses an LED sensor to detect movement.

An infrared, cordless mouse requires and relays a signal to the mouse port found on the laptop.

The base of the trackball mouse remains stationary, while the trackball sitting on top of this mouse reflects all movement.

Function

A mouse depicts a device that controls the movement of the cursor or pointer on a monitor or display.

Product

Several reasons exist for a cursor to uncontrollably scroll up and down on a display.

Static electricity often initiates wild cursor reactions.

To solve this, use pre-moistened computer cleaning wipes to help control static electricity and clean electronic surfaces.

Bad batteries can trigger impromptu cursor movements in a wireless mouse.

Electrical interferences can also produce the scrolling effect. Radio, wireless or electrical objects may require removal from close proximity.

The mouse needs to stay in range of the receiver, meaning near the Laptop

I have found that the best way to adjust your mouse settings is to create a control panel in your bottom toolbar scroll to the bottom of your screen right click you will see an array of options select the toolbar option then select desktop

then you will see the desktop in the bottom toolbar select the 2 >>arrow heads then all control panel items then select mouse this is in WINDOWS 7

in XP you will have to select the new toolbar option once you have that a browse option select my computer then control panel then a control panel option will be in the bottom toolbar

click start right click on my computer select properties device manager control scroll to mice and pointing devices you might see a yellow question mark? right update driver

click on >> control panel all control panel items mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons pointers pointer options and hardware under hardware you have options to troubleshoot also you can select properties under driver you will have the options update driver rollback driver or uninstall in xp

in windows 7 click start control panel hardware and sound mouse you will see the same tabs and options as with xp

hope this helps

How do I fix a frozen cursor on dell inspiron?

make sure batteries have power and have secure seating
or it might be the usb for wireless mouse or lead connecting to the usb port or even a faulty mouse

if this does not fix the problem

restart you computer tap the f8 key repeatedly to enter safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you an attempt to repair your computer

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to mice and other pointing devices you might see a yellow exclamation mark ! or question mark ? or a red x

right click you will need to update the driver

Page up button not working

Unfortunately it sounds like you're keyboard is malfunctioning and the only permanent fix is to replace the keyboard. In the mean time, since you are unable to do so, I would suggest using the touch pad to manipulate the scroll bar for the faster scrolling. For more control you could use a USB mouse with the laptop which would give you a scroll wheel. (I personally use a Wireless Mouse with my laptop because I find touch pads don't react they way I would like my mouse to use)

Hello :

It seems that your system is slowed down . This issue can be caused by a virus infection or spyware problem or registry problem .
First : try to scan your system for viruses or spyware affection . Second : check registry for problems .

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you use IE as a browser then it seems that your web browser is not stable . Here is what to do : Just go to www.microsoft.com and download internet explorer again andinstall it , then reboot your system . I'm sure that this will solvethe problem . any way , why don't you try other internet communicationsoftwares like ( firefox or google chrome) those both are great also .I advice you to have more than one internet communication software . Ialready have three just in case if one of them is corrupted . I have (Internet explorer and firefox and google chrome ) . just try the ideaand you'll be satisfied with the result .

I have window content sizing issues

I'm not so certain about how the crazy search size thing happened... but I do know that if you hold down on Ctrl and scroll down with your mouse it will decrease the font-size on the web-page you are viewing.

As far as your browser window sizing, firefox saves the non-maximized window size every time you shut it down(exit firefox). What I suggest is that you open a firefox window in the non-maximized window size, and stretch & position it the way that you like it... and then exit firefox. Pop-up ads and windows will mess with the window sizing without a person even knowing about it... rather annoying if I do say so myself.

I hope that works out for you.
