My maytag flashes the code F1. What does that mean?

I just went through the same thing. According to what I have researched, it means a problem with the touchpad. Found out the clock/touchpad can run up to $200 to replace minus labor. I had nothing to lose so I took the back panel off the stove, took out the unit which is held with 4 screws, and used alcohol on a qtip to clean the circuit board. Mind you the stove is 15 years old and wasn't about to pay 200 dollars for a part. Put it all back together and the error code went away and the oven is now working again. It is getting me through Thanksgiving but I am buying a new stove because I don't know how long this repair will last. You have to consider the age of your range and what you are willing to pay.

Digital display is reading F10 and beeping and the oven shuts off after burning Banana Bread I also had smoke coming out the back panel of the stove top

Hello,

The F10 error code means that a button on the touchpad is stuck. The error code can be cleared by pushing the cancel/off button and if the F10 returns the clock needs to be replaced since on that model the touchpad is part of the clock.

GE Range / Stove / Oven Fault Codes Failure Code Fault Code Description Solution F0 Stuck touch pad Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both. During
BAKE Control senses oven temperature above 615F-630F If actual over temperature condition occurred: Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).

If no over temperature condition occurred: Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit , not actual oven temperature. F2

F5 Loss of relay drive circuit If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC). F8 Shorted meat probe Problem could be with the probe, the receptacle, or probe circuit. Check probe. Look for pinched wire. Look for condensation or contamination on probe receptacle. F9 Lock switch Check wiring to door lock switch (the wire harness may be connected wrong). Check for stuck lock switch. FC Problem with door lock circuit such as pinched wires between control and door lock switches on motorized lock circuits Check wiring and test operation of switches. FD Shorted meat probe Problem could be with the probe, the receptacle, or probe circuit. Check probe. Look for pinched wire. Look for condensation or contamination on probe receptacle. Replace probe if all else checks out ok. FF Loss of door motor safety switch Replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC). FFF Control error, failed EEPROM Replace the oven control board (also called clock or ERC).

The main control operates a series of software commands, which control the various features and functions of the oven. Each function or operation has a numerical value assigned to it. The numerical values can be added up - this is called the check sum operation. Every time the system is powered up and after each clean cycle the system performs a check sum and compares the value to the value programmed into the software (stored in memory).

An EEPROM check sum error or FFF code occurs when the values differ. If this happens, replace the oven control board (also called clock or ERC).Here is a list of error codes and corrective action that should be taken. Mike

Oven doesn't work, stove does

If it's a Whirlpool or Kenmore oven (or one of several other brands that are made by Whirlpool) then this error code means:

F1 - E1 Safety flip flop Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC)

The system believes that the control board has failed and needs to be replaced.

This page has a list of diagnostic codes by brand and model number. You should check there to look up your particular brand to confirm what I just said.

F30 Erorr on stove...

The fault code shows that your temperature probe opened.

1. Check resistance at room temperature & compare to RTD Sensor resistance chart.
If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe.
Check Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector.

2. Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check for shorted Sensor Probe harness between EOC & Probe connector.

C. Replace door switch. (If door switch is integral to the door latch motor
assembly, replace the entire door/latch motor assembly). Go to step H.
D. Unplug oven or disconnect power.
E. Check the integrity of the harness wires and connections between the
appliance manager and the door/latch assembly. Ensure there are no shorted
or pinched wires.
If the wiring harness is pinched or damaged, replace the door switch harness.
Go to step H.
If wiring harness is good, go to step H.
