OK, 5 times blink code shows problem of white balance that related with 3 picture tubes in this tv, it is rear projection tv.
10 times blink shows High Voltage Protection due to high current drain or high voltage leakage.

Does tv show high bright screen of either red, green or blue color with few thin retrace line any time while its working correctly?
    Thanks.

Can you replace parts in tv circuit boards with proper tools?
If you can then we can repair tv on component level or you need to replace D Board of tv.

  • sahara89102 Aug 27, 2010

im an automotive technician 25 years are these components soldered in?
and can you explain to me what and where the d board is i think i would rather replace a board rather than repair , do you have any images available of the d board? and also any recommendations where to get parts

OK, Below image shows D Board location in TV, hope this will help you to locate D Board.
Part number of D Board is as follows:
    A1302161A..... D BOARD, COMPLETE

This board is available in Sony Part Store for $125 with replacement part number 9910999Y2

Click on Sony Part Store, put part number A1302161A in search box "Part Number start with" and hit red search button to see results, you can place online order there.

Let me know if you have additional question.
    Thanks.

    excellent info thanks
are there any components that will retain hi voltage that i need to be aware of during removal of this d board
also if i have any further questions how long is the fee i paid for good till,
and lastly !!!!! will this chat stay in my profile so i can refer back to it?

Yes, unplug tv from ac wall socket for 20-30 minutes before working on it.
There is thick wire of flyback transformer that goes in HV block, push it on HV block and turn it 45 degree to unlock it then pull out.
Rest connectors are easy ti plug out, board replacement does not require any soldering work.
If you accept this solution, it will close question thread, however you can still post follow up question and will be replied instantly. This question thread will remain in your profile and you can view it any time.
    Thanks.

Sony kdp-57ws550. Turn on tv = no picture, have

You have to count how many times it blinks. It is a service code. The main thing that goes on these is the convergence chips. If you had the back off doing any type of repair, recheck your plugs. Odds are, you crossed one.
