Question about HP Pavilion a340n (DQ099AABA) PC Desktop
This is HP Support, and the Product Specifications page for the Pavilion A340N desktop computer,
After you click on the above link, on the Product Specifications page, left-click on -
Motherboard Specifications, P4SD-LA (Stingray)
Scroll down the page to the heading -
You will see you have 1 AGP slot.
Accelerated Graphics Port.
MUCH better technology, than used in a PCI expansion slot.
Scroll down to the motherboard illustration, and the motherboard photo.
In the illustration look right above PCI expansion slot 1. (PCI1)
Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP8X1)
This means you have the AGP 8X technology. The AGP 8X technology is used for that AGP slot.
Use AGP 8X graphics card's.
More on the AGP technology,
The Integrated Graphics is supplied by Intel's 845G motherboard chipset,
ANY, decent graphics card that is AGP8X, will S-M-O-K-E the graphics 'power' of that Intel GMCH.

The system has PCI card slots. You can buy any PCI graphics card and upgrade your system.
