Question about OKI MICROLINE 390 Turbo Matrix Printer
Disconnect the LPT cable, and try a usb cable, the wierd printing should stop while the cable is disconnected. I'll be willing to bet there is something trying to print or poll the printer from the computer. that is causing the random characters. check to see that there are no other printers configured g to print/connect to same LPT1 port, from an old printer installation. (thus switching to the USB cable). Be also sure to download the latest drivers for your operating system for the OKI, from OKI's website
