Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I tripped over my antenna cord and it pulled the cable/antenna connection out of place which has disconnected it. I would like to remove the back so I can assess the issue to see if I can take it in to be repaired or if it is solid state it may not be fixable. I have removed all of the screws, however the back does not lift off easily and I am aprehensive about "prying" it. Please advise. The model number is NS LCD19

Make sure all screws are removed, also check connection jack area for screws and remove them to take off back cover.

How do I install a radio antenna in a 1997 Ford Laser sedan roof mounted I have been able to feed the antenna into the cavity but cannot find the end of it now please help

The trick is to tie a cord to the old antenna before removing it. then pull the new antenna into place with the cord. All I can think of is to try and feed a length wire into the cavity till you can find the other end tie a cord to it and pull it through, then pull the new antenna cable into place with the cord.

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove cup holder.
  3. Remove trim panel above cupholder by pulling straight out.
  4. Remove center instrument panel trim panel.
  5. Remove screws holding radio to instrument panel.
  6. Pull radio rearward to gain access to the back of radio (RADIO). CAUTION: Pulling the antenna cable straight out of the radio without pulling on the locking antenna connector could damage the cable or radio.

  8. Disconnect bolt holding ground strap to the radio (if equipped).
  9. Disconnect the wire connectors from the back of the radio.

Antenna

The only reason to have an electrical wire going to the antenna is for a motor that raises and lowers the antenna. The antenna cable to the radio is the only wire on the antenna.
To replace the antenna, you have to remove it from where it connects onto the car, then lift it out from there. The antenna and the cable cannot be separated, it's all one piece. You pull the cable off of the back of radio, and tie a strong string onto it, because when you lift out the antenna, the cable will be pulled out from under the dash and to wherever the antenna is situated and out that hole. Now tie the string onto (hope you had a long string, lol) the end of the cable on your new antenna and cable, and stick the end of the cable into the antenna mounting hole. Pull the string from under the dash by the radio and you will bring the cable back into the dash and where you can plug it into the old radio and listen to good old music again !

Need to replace radio antenna on a 99 isuzu rodeo

I just replaced the antenna on our 02 rodeo. No need to remove radio or anything in dash. This is how I did it.
First you will need access to back of fender, enough room for your hand. Open hood and remove 3 bolts running along top of fender, open passenger door and remove top bolt holding fender. Gently pry top of fender away from vehicle. Place object in gap to hold fender ( I used the head of a rubber mallet). Reach inside fender and disconnect old antenna, follow cable through wall into passenger compartment. Gently pull cable from behind carpet and unplug old antenna from coupler. Connect new antenna to fender ( replacement antenna I ordered was slightly smaller than opening so I had to add washer). Run new antenna cable through wall and plug into coupler. Re-attach fender

CD Player will not eject the CD magazine

Disconnect Battery
  • As with any tasks on a Mercedes or other vehicle, when you are dealing with disconnecting and connecting electrical systems, you should always disconnect the negative battery terminal. This will ensure your safety and prevent you from getting an electric shock.

Dash Panel
  • Pry the dash panel from the dashboard. There are two levers on the sides of the Mercedes factory-installed CD changer. Pulling down on the levers will release the radio from the bracket in the dash. You will have to remove the wiring and the antenna cable from the back of the system.

Installation
  • You can replace it with a newer version of a CD changer or insert the same one, once it has been repaired. Slide the player into the installation sleeve of the stereo dock. Pay attention to where the wires were removed and connect the unit's wiring to the leads in the wiring harness adapter. Connect the antenna cable lead into the antenna detector. Snap on the dash panel to complete the removal and installation.

How to remove radio from 1993 lincoln continental

  • 2 Pry the trim panel from the stereo assembly.
  • 3 Insert the Ford DIN removal tools into the two holes at either side of the stereo face. Push the tools into the openings until they lock into place. Pull outward on the tools while pulling the stereo from the Lincoln's stereo dock.
  • 4 Disconnect the stereo wiring and antenna cable from the outlets on the back of the factory stereo to finish the stereo removal.

I have a 2001 yukon and i need to replace they entire antenna from the antenna base to the radio I can't figure how to route the new cable.

This will require dash removal, the factory routing for the cable is behind and above the airbox. The easiest way to do it if you have not already pulled the old one out is to attach a piece of 16 guage wire to one end of the factory cable before you pull it out, and then when you pull out the old cable it will in turn pull the 16 guage wire through in its place. At this point attach the new cable to the 16 guage wire and pull the 16 guage wire through which will in turn pull your new cable through. If you have already pulled the old cable out and want to install the new through the same route then you will have to remove the airbox, or you can just reroute the new cable.

Replacing radio power mast on 2002 toyota 4runner

Sometimes you can put the new antenna cord in the motor, even with the old piece in there, and not have a problem. But, if it makes noise, the fender well needs to be pulled back, and the antenna motor removed enough to pull the back plate off,and remove the rest of the plastic cord. I have done MANY MANY of these. Its easy, some plastic clips, 1 10mm bolt, and some phillips screws.
