Question about Arris SURFboard SB5120 Modem

Occasionally, the power light will blink slowly, and no other lights are on, and there is no connection. Disconnecting the box completely and reconnecting, and powering up solves the problem. What is the problem?

Intermittent connection issues are very difficult for internet service providers to trouble shoot. The first step in trouble shooing any Intermittent connection problem is to look at the chain of equipment involved in flow of data from the internet service provider to the end user. In most homes the packets enter from the main cable line to the modem, than from the modem to the router, and finally from the router to you computer. So that means that the issue can be caused from the following equipment: main cable line, splitter, modem, router, or the Ethernet / wireless card of the PC. Since we know that the connection is being dropped at or before the modem I recommend contacting the internet service provider and demand a service call to swap the modem and check the pole. Your issue can be cause by some thing as simple as a bad splitter in the home or some thing as complicated at an issue at the pole. Most commonly this will turn out to be a bad modem.

Start light wont stop blinking wont start

Based off what you have described your Frigidaire washer won't start and the light continues to blinks. This could be a miscommunication within your control panel or door latch. To clear out a miscommunication you need to perform a reset and that can be done by disconnecting the power cord for at least ten minutes. If the light continues to blink you may need to replace any electric component and that would best be completed by a professional technician. Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Wont reset and has erratic blinking lights. Tried power reset, reset button, etc.


Does the power light blinks when you press the reset button?
If power light is blinking continuously then I think your router is not working and you need a new one.

What gives me pause on this is the fact that the problem stays with the application and that your other applications work OK.

What ths issue sounds like is a neutral connection issue.. Many of the Cooper sensor/switch products require a neutral connection to avoid the issue you're describing. If there was no neutral connection, the sensor would draw power, and then dump it out through the light fixture - causing the lamps to flash (like you're seeing). But if you add a neutral connection to the device, the sensor can dump it out through the neutral and not excite the light bulbs.

So why does it work in the other installations and not here? Well, one possibility is that maybe those other installations have a LOT of load (multiple fixtures) so that spike of current isn't enough to make them blink. The other possibility is that maybe there isn't a neutral connection in the box, or maybe the neutral connection was disconnected from the box. I struggle with both these answers especially since you were able to do it successfully in two other locations, but the problem mode you discuss SCREAMS neutral issue.

If you can't solve it by those means, I recommended replacing it with the Lutron equivalent, the MS-OP600M-WH (dimmer) or MS-OPS6M-DV-WH (switch). Neither of these device leak a lot of current and work without requiring a neutral connection.

Kitchenaid kud101tj "cancel drain" light and "Rinse Only" lights are falhing and DW won't start???


Don't know if this will help, but when I had problems with my control panel (lights blinked and nothing worked) I fixed it by disconnecting the power completly from the dishwasher at the fuse box. Leave it off 10 or 15 minutes and then repower. That reset mine and it worked again...has happened several times and each time I could fix it by cutting the power. If that doesn't work, you may need a new control panel.

internal breaker, hopefully that xbox is plugged into a 3prong ac outlet. unplug the tv from electricity for a half hour and that circuit breaker inside should auto reset.
