The normal time for the battery to charge will depend on the charge left on the battery. So if the batterylevel is almostt fully down it can take about 1-2 hours to complete the charge where as if the battery has about half charge then it might take about one hour.

SOURCE: how should i store my poetable dvd player battery?

Store it full charge. If you store it low charge, then battery life will be compromised. Research and tests have proven that storing batteries full charged will extend its life. Also make sure that you charge stored batteries every 3 months to further extend its life.

My Portable DVD Player Battery can't hold a charge

Rechargeable batteries can only be recharged so many times. They begin to slowly lose their capacity after about the first 5 charges until ultimately it won't hold a charge anymore. It appears that this is your problem. Look for a model number on the battery & do a Google search for it if you want to try & replace it. You might also find it is cheaper to buy a whole new DVD player than it is to buy a replacement battery.

My battery does not recharge.

I think that your battery is a dud. If you have been using your portable player on ac all of the time then you have been charging your battery at the same time. You need to play the portable on the battery at least once a month or it will slowly just go bad.

Try a standard multi voltage charger. These come with a selection of connectors each one of a specific size and color coded. so you pick the connector to fit the input jack then set the charger to the appropriate color to give the correct voltage.
