Remove the battery and also the memory card and keep aside. after about 30 minutes reinsert the battery and hold down OK button, then switch on to see if the camera resets with the lens correcting. If the fault does not clear, repeat once again but hold the lens on the palm and tap softly to reset the mechanism from any blocks.
If none of the above works you will need help to open and check.

When turning camera on it is blinking and saying lens error will shut down automatically restart camera

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Turning off Automatically

Thanks for the response. I actually took some advice to send it back to Casio. it was a little over the one year warranty but they fixed it for me for free and it works great now! I just fibbed on what day I received it as a gift. Its was a lens problem caused by dropping it.

Lens error

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Kodak Easy Share C330 lens error 14 and lens error 22

Hello,

I bought two of these on clearance and gave one to my in-laws. She suspected that one of her kids may have dropped the camera or pushed in the lens. I don't remember which lens error number had shown up, but I dis-assembled the camera to find out what the deal was. If I remember correctly, there is a way to manually turn the gears to put he lens back out. I left the lens out and turned it on and it worked perfectly. Fair warning though. It is VERY IMPORTANT not to touch the contacts for the flash EVEN WITH THE BATTERIES OUT!!! God did it hurt like hell... unfortunately it is fairly easy to do and I must have accidentally done it about 4-5 times while messing with it..
