How do you use/insert the symbols, like the degree symbol?

There are a few different ways to type the degree

1. Use the keyboard shortcut: Press and hold the Option key, then press the letter K on your keyboard. This will insert the degree symbol.
2. Use the character viewer:

• Go to the Edit menu and select Emoji & Symbols.
• In the search field, type "degree".
• Double-click the degree symbol to insert it into your document.

1. Use the ASCII code:

• Press and hold the Option key and the Shift key.
• Press the number 8 on the numeric keypad. This will insert the degree symbol.

In Excel 2003, place your cursor where you want the Philippine Peso sign to appear.

Select Insert > Symbol.

In the Symbol dialog box Symbols tab Subset dropdown list scroll to find and select Currency Symbols.

The capitol P with two horizontal lines through the top half should be visible one column to the right and one row down from the currently selected symbol or somewhere else nearby.

Select the symbol you want and select Insert > Close. The symbol will be where it should be.

You can easily insert a degree symbol in your Office documents going to Insert menu, using the Symbols command and then insert the degree symbol.

DEGREE AND OTHER SYMBOLS ARE LOCATED IN OFFICE SOFTWARE LIKE MS WORDS. IN WORDS YOU MAY PRESS "INSERT" THEN "SYMBOLS" THEN CHOOSE YOUR SYMBOL THEN ENTER

When entering the information it only shows the degree symbol. If you press enter or type inthe formula, then the answer will show the Degree, Minutes, and seconds. It seems to be the way it was program by Casio. It still seems to work fine for entering that information

If you are using Microsoft word, better you can insert symbols, goto insert then click on symbols from there you can select your choice of symbols. if you don't want to try Microsoft word, then press Function Key.

A better way to enter special symbols in Windows applications (such as Word), is to take advantage of the symbols in the fonts provided by Windows. For example, in Word, use the following steps:

1. Click on "Insert" (in the menu at the top of the page)
2. From the drop-down menu, select "Symbol". A chart of special symbols will appear
3. From the chart, you can select a symbol to insert into your document by highlighting the symbol, and clicking on the word "Insert" at the bottom of the chart.

How do I generate extended ASCII characters from the keyboard?
A: DOS will allow you to enter extended ASCII characters into many programs. Here's how you do it:

1. Make sure NumLock is enabled on your keyboard.
2. Press and hold the ALT key.
3. While holding down the ALT key, enter the 3-digit decimal code for the extended ASCII character you want to generate.
4. Release the ALT key.

Press the [MODE] key to access the mode comfiguration screen .
Set angle unit to to radian (see above)
Enter angle value in Decimal degrees only, use the [2nd][ANGLE] key sequence to have access to the degree symbol. The degree symbol must imperatively appear at the end of the angle value.



Here are some examples
If you use angle values in DMS, it will not be converted to radians, but to decimal degrees.
If you omit the degree symbol there is no conversion.



A general formula is Pi radians =180 degrees

In windows, click Start>Programmes>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map. Here you will find every symbol and you can copy this to the clipboard for pasting into any application you require.
