Question about Dell A960 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I do not have my installation cd and got a "new" (old) computer. It has list from which I can choose, but they have no Dell choices. It says to find out what printer is comparable and that I can choose that one from the list. I can't find which is comparable to the Dell AIO A960- can you help??!!

    I already had tried installing the driver, and it still can't find the printer. I have also checked the wiring and the computer detects when I re-do the wires...any other suggestions

    Don't know if you got the last reply as when i typed it, this other box came up to reply to you...anyway, I had already tried installing that same driver and it doesnt do the trick. Do you have a list of comparable printers to the Dell A960? I do, as I said, have a list from which I can choose. I am amazed there is no Dell option, but there is not! Thanks.

    Did not hear back on my second question. My problem is not resolved. Please help!
    My second quesiton was that the driver is installed and it din't work.

The computer is asking for the printer's drivers. Cancel the procedure you have done up to now, go at this link, select your operating system (Windows XP or Vista) and download the Dell official drivers for your printer. Run the file that you downloaded and follow the on screen guide.

    OK I've got your answers. Let me copy - paste for you from Dell official site the installation procedure (this has to be done after the downloading of the drivers file):

    1. Plug in the printer, hit cancel on all found new hardware
    screens that appear.
    2. Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R69636.EXE.
    3. The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to
    extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R69636. Write down this path so
    the executable (I.e. Setup.exe) file can be found later.
    4. The Self-Extractor window appears.
    5. Click OK.
    6. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
    window is still open, close it.
    7. Setup will start the setup.exe automatically.
    8. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

    If setup.exe fails to run, or if you need to it run again.
    1. Click the Start button and then click Run.
    2. Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R69636 in the Open textbox and
    then click OK.
    3. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

    Have you already done all the above steps? Did you get any error message at any stage? Did the above procedure finished but the printer is not installed correctly?

  • Make sure your usb cable is working fine .Also download patch update from my first email solution link then install then check.
    Again full uninstall printer driver and usb drivers too.
    For tha right click on my computer icon then click on property then hardware->device manager.
    Then you can see all drivers list uninstall all usb drivers from there then it automatic install all usb drivers.Then reinstall printer driver then check.

Try this solution to your problem.
Look for the speaker icon on your desktop in the right bottom portion of the sceen.
Also when you find it, RIGHT click on it, you will have two choices to make, choose and check each one of the choices to make sure that NONE of the boxes on each
choice has a checkmark in Mute,if there is a check mark then uncheck it.
NOTE:In "Open Volume control: you will find slider to adjust for volume,Wave,CD Player,etc.
After that is down, then LEFT click on the speaker icon and make sure that the slider is all the way to the top and that the Mute does not have a check mark,if it does remove the check.
If that does not work then re-install the audio driver for your computer.

Laptop won't start up, won't load upgrades to vista.

Can you boot off of the Dell operating system CD? Can you boot into safe mode?

You may need to reinstall the OS in do that, insert the CD, restart the system. You should be propted to "press any key to boot from CD" When your choices come up, choose the Install. Let it do it's thing, then choose the repair option. When finished you will have to download and install all updates.

I want to upgrade my computer so I just purchased a maxtor 320 gb harddrive for my computer. I install the new harddrive and put the restore cd and choose the quick format. Computer reformat normally and...

Here are some solution that might help
Option 1 Do a fresh install, used the original Operating system CD
Option 2 Install Norton ghost 2010 or Acronis Migrate on your OLD HDD and make your new HDD as Slave then Clone your Old HDD to the new one..

I have a dell optiplex gx 620 i install a new harddrive put the os cd in it said no boot device,i put in the dell boot cd it booted the computer up it got to A> prompt and stop loading what do i type in...

First put your Windows CD in the drive.

While booting, the screen should offer you a couple of choices - Enter "Setup" and tell you which keys to press or "Boot Options" and again which key to select.

Try Boot options first, and choose to boot from CD. It will revert next time you boot.

If you choose or have to enter "Setup" . Usually achieved by pressing the "Delete" or "F2" key look for and change your boot options to select you CD drive first but make sure you put it back later.

You may have to re-boot a couple of times to find the commands I mention, they do flash through fairly quickly.

Need instructions for using webcam.

The Dell Creative WebCam software should be installed on your machine. to find click on start and type webcam or dell webcam in start search and it will populate the result or else you may find it in the all programs.
if you dont have it there, you may need to install it using the cd which you must have recieved with the computer.
Installation Steps :-
Choose the desired Language
Choose Typical Install
Choose Custom Install to chose WebCam Central and/or Cam Avatar Creator
Choose the Destination Folder
The installation will continue from that point without intervention
You will be prompted to restart the computer. Make the choice and click Finish. Open the simulation below to walk through the installation process.
This software can also launch by clicking Start >Programs Files > Dell Webcam > Dell Webcam Central.

If you get any error message after this you may need to reinstall the application.

to remove it from the computer.
click on start/control pannel (click on the classic view on the upper left hand corner) / programs and features / dell webcam central and then click on uninstall. and then restart the computer and then put the cd in the drive and start the installation. just follow the onscreen instructions and keep clicking next and agree to terms and next and then finish and then restart the computer. it should be up and running.

thats all you needed to do.
even then if you face any trouble call Dell technical support.

I would like to wipe out my c: drive and reinstall ms vista. How do I do that?

Insert the Vista disc into the cd-rom drive. re-boot the computer. It should ask "boot from cd press any key" at that point press any key. When it boots up it you want to pick install windows and pick new installation. Doing this will erase the old files and do a fresh installation. Sometimes computers like Dell have a set of cd-roms to do this and the process is a little bit different. If you cannot get the cd-rom to boot like I stated above then you can go into the computer BIOS and change the boot sequence so the cd-rom drive is first. Or you can run the cd-rom from windows and pick new installation.

Brand new computer and i did not install the adobe it came with the computer Vista basic and i get the 1311 error message when i try to run adobe computer 1 day old !

When you try to install Adobe Acrobat 6, 7, 8, or 3D on Windows, the installer returns the error message "Error [1311, 1335 or 2350]. Source file not found: [drive name]:\ Adobe Acrobat [version]\ Verify that the file exists and that you can access it." If you click Retry, the installer returns the error message "Cannot find the file Adobe Acrobat [version]\"
Solution Perform one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Check the Acrobat CD-ROM.

Make sure that the CD-ROM from which you are installing is free of dirt and debris. If necessary, clean the CD-ROM with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Solution 2: Temporarily disable anti-virus software, and then install Acrobat.

For instructions, see the documentation for the anti-virus software or contact the manufacturer.
Solution 3: Extract the compressed installation files, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click the folder and choose Extract All.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. To install Acrobat, double-click the Setup.exe file located in the folder that contains the extracted files.
Solution 4: Uninstall the CD-ROM drive and let Windows redetect it, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
  3. Expand the DVD/CD-ROM drives section.

Solution 5: Install Acrobat from the desktop.

  1. Insert the Acrobat CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Copy the Acrobat folder from the Acrobat CD to the Desktop.
  3. Double-click setup.exe in the Acrobat folder on the Desktop, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Additional Information Errors 1311, 1335, and 2350 occur when the Acrobat installer is unable to access the necessary files from the CD-ROM drive. These same errors may also occur if antivirus software interferes with an installation or if the installation files are compressed.

No Vista Drivers Two thing to try. 1. Go to the Lexmark site and seek out Vista drivers for your model. 2.Go to start/printers and Faxes/install new printer. When you are given the choice CD or from list select 'From List' Go to make - Lexmark Go to Model 4300[or any 4000 series if you do not see 4300] Click OK Tell us what happens Finally be preparde to sport out on a new printer that is Vista Compatable

Hard Drive

Put the CD in your CD Drive and shut off the pc. Then start it up again making sure the CD is still in the drive. You will then be asked if you want to boot from CD. Press any key to confirm this (it might skip asking you if it detects that your hard-drive is already blank) Then you want to let it run its install routine. Im not sure what options it will give you but the ones you are looking for is FULL install.
