It is possible and most likely you blew a fuse. Should be fuse 17. Do you need an owner's handbook? If so, email me at iambanshee74@yahoo.com and I will send that right to you. What year exactly so I get the right one?

I'm thinking you have a power problem in your wiring. Not sure about your radio's make, etc., but I know the memory wiring has to come ahead of the ignition switch to allow power continuously. Perhaps you blew a fuse to this wire, or shorted it out and opened up a fusible link? Not sure, of course. Sure does sound like a problem occurred when installing the am/fm and amp, and perhaps it could have been a crimped wire.
Wish I had more ideas, but problems like this are really tricky.

Ok you have two in line fuses one goes to your battery the other goes to your ignition switch. The wire running straight to your battery is your memory wire. Check both of your radios to see if they have fuses on them if they are blown replace and make sure non of the wires are exposed when pushing radio in dash. Im sure that all you have is a blown fuse. Some fuses on aftermarket radios or located in a black or red box connected to the ACC wire iat the back of the radio. Pry open the box to see if fuse is blown

Hello,

Most radios will have 12 volts coming in on 2 wires. 1 wire goes to the ignition, and provides the bulk of the power required for the radio. The 2nd wire provides power to the radio all the time, so that the memory feature and clock are not cleared / reset. I would venture that you have got the 2 wires backwards, and have blown a fuse in the fuseblock when the 2nd radio was connected. Also, the 2nd radio (with the amplifier built in) may draw too much power for the wiring harness in the truck, and may require a dedicated power wire coming directly off the battery (fused of course).

Double check your wiring (particularly if you are having to splice wires together, then check for blown fuses.

I use a wired fm modulator that the fm antenna passes through. When the sirius radio is on it blocks the regular fm signal preventing local signals from interferring. Do a search for wired fm modulator and you should find one. Mine actually fit inside the dash on my pickup.

No am radio but fm works fine

I don't know why you need AM, but that's not the issue.
If you have FM and HEAR it ok, then everything is fine. You've hooked it up right.
Not being able to find AM, is in the new radio.
You need to look to see how to tune to AM.
Maybe the paperwork that came with it!

95 Buick Century dash removal?

you should not have to remove the dash to install a new radio all you have to do is remove the trim around the radio and then take out the bolts that hold the radio in and remove the wires from the back and also if there is a Walmart or Radio Shack near you get an installation kit and you plug it from the plugs from your old radio and it is alot easier to wire it that way

Radio switches between AM, FM, and CD

Check fuse no. 18(20 amp) in the under dash fuse panel. This is the fuse that keeps power to radio at all times to keep memory alive.

Radio doesn't work anymore

For a wiring diagram go to an auto parts store and get a repair manual, about $15-18. Or just go and get an aftermarket stereo at Best Buy (or wherever). They will have what you need to install it. The sound will be MUCH better.
